'Lore Appropriate' Names for B2P Systems

There's already been some talk on this forum that shows peoples discontent not only with B2P persay, but specifically with the terminology used to describe the different new systems. ESO Plus, Tamriel Unlimited and Crown Store have a very technical and detached ring to it, so I'd like to use this thread to find lore appropriate and more fitting names instead.

I'm going to offer my own suggestion and would love to read yours. So here we go:

ESO Plus

The Marukhati Selective

• the group rumored to be responsible for a thousand years encompassing Dragon Break, a time and reality altering event similar to ESO going B2P and the game's revamp. Without us subscribers, this wouldn't be happening, after all.
• additionally to be being a lore group at bethsoft forums, it was one of the biggest pre-release ESO group over there as well. It would be a nice nod into the direction of the first followers. (or insult, might depend on who you ask. can't have everythig, eh.)

Tamriel Unlimited

War of Liberation

• has a much needed ambiguity, since we're not only fighting for the freedom of Nirn in-game, but will struggle with the new found 'freedom' the new business model brings with it
• has a much needed 'of' in it. MMOs got to have an 'of' somewhere in their title, now don't they?!

Crown Store

Mud Crab Store

• The Mudcrab Merchant is the richest of all and thus obviously the perfect choice to run the in-game store. No other merchant could be as filthy rich and get away with it
• provides comical relief, which is direly needed when dealing with serious matters and controversies

So, what's your take? Would you rather play a Tamriel Unlimited, join the ESO Plus club and go shopping in the Crown Store, or could you see yourself fighting in the War of Liberation, being a member of the Marukhati Selective and do your trading with the Mudcrab Merchant?

Or maybe something entirely different? Please share!

I love the names. I don't really hate ESO Plus and Tamerial Unlimited, but the crown shop is solo generic. Hopefully they will change it to the mud crab store or another lore based name.

They did not show a great deal of creativity in naming. This, alone, bodes ill for the future of the game. If they cannot come up with clever and names for this stuff, how can we expect them to be creative in the rest of the game?

You have to make people want to spend money.

They should have gone with Imperial Caravan Company or something like that for the Crown Store. Imperial Census and Excise Office. East Empire Company (might have a guild named that)

The ESO Plus should have some other name. Something that sounds like a guild or group, but does not sound cheesy. Transfer subscriber loyalty into that, as well, giving player rank in the group/guild according to the number of months. I am not sure if there is a proper Lore friendly organization that could be the front for subscribers that sounds cool, but it does not have to be strictly found in lore. If the Psijic Order was not already taken, that would be a good name. We could bend lore and use Order of the Dragon, which won't exist for a couple hundred years. Best bet is something outside of lore that is lore friendly.

Tamriel Unlimited is probably the only name that does not matter and is fine.

Sorry OP but I think that your suggestions are just as bad as the current names selected by ZOS. @lordrichter's seem better.

They trademarked ESO Plus, so my guess is that they won't want to change it.

They could still sell ESO Plus to the outside world but have a different name in the game for identification.

The Sub Title should be Interregrum as it is the period of time thats being covered.

They are more on the lore appropriate side and less tongue in cheek, yep. Like them too, no need to feel sorry!

How did I just now see this thread? ZOS definitely needs to put at least a couple minutes of thought into the cheesy awful names they've be using.

Don't want to sound too drastic but the lore-related suggested names here are pathetic. "Marukhati selective" for instance sounds horrible and is not Elder Scrolls related, at least not for the vast majority of players, especially those who've played only Skyrim.

Why on Earth do you think that a title needs a "of" ? To sound more like WoW ?? "War of Liberation" is not in the least lore-related and not even to medieval fantasy...

I like "ESO:TU", I think it's great because it refers to three things at once :
1/ you can visit all of Tamriel and not only one province like in the single player-games
2/ it's an MMO with an unlimited number of players and unlimited new content over time
3/ it's B2P so the player is not limited by a subscription any more.

The Crown Store is what it is and does not belong to the game itself so it should not have any lore-related name. Same applies to ESO-Plus subscribers, it would not be right to give them any lore-related faction name or anything the like.

But I agree Marukhati Selective shouldn't be used, it's already associated with the lore community. Plus, it would force subscribers into a religious belief that probably nobody holds.

East Empire Company seems like an obvious choice for the cash shop.

There are pretentious names and then there are Khajiit hipster level pretentious names.
I think the names they have now are pretentious enough for what you're actually getting.

I would love it if ZOS had put more energy and creativity into their buy to play transition. In particular the name of their cash currency is TERRIBLE. Crowns? That was the best they could come up with? Not Drakes (insinuating that it's THIS currency that would later be restamped to become Septims) or use the Dwemer Coin and call them Dumacs in honor of the Dwemer king.

Yea, the names in the OP aren't perfect, but just serve to highlight the sad, unenthusiastic lack of thought that went into the B2P transition. All the B2P features could have been integrated much much better into the existing lore and game world to create a B2P game that was more interesting and unique, but nope...

Nobody puts a Septim or a Dumac on their head when they want to feel superior to everyone else, though.

Very much so yes, I join ESO Plus once a month and that takes about 10 seconds, I'll spend maybe 30 seconds in the crown store if I know what I'm buying and maybe 1-2 minutes if I want to browse. That's it. So at most 3 Minutes a month is spent on the Crown Store and ESO Plus, why does that need to be "Lore Integrated" ? And how would that truly affect your game play?

Now on the other hand, a new player joins up, like myself, knows nothing about ESO or ES in general. How the hell is he going to know what "The Marukhati Selective" or "Mud Crab Store" are?

ESO Plus and Crown Store are perfect names for what they offer.

ESO Plus - You get little bonuses for signing up, but not 100% needed - Name says it all

Crown Store - You buy crowns, you buy stuff in the crown store, done - Name suits it

I think out of everything that needs to be done to make ESO and even better game then the fantastic one it is already, this can go way way WAAAY down on the list. Right below "Should they have a bigger beard selection".
