How will mounts work?

From what I've heard, once the Collection System is introduced, all mounts will be transferred into it, along with pets and costumes. I suppose this means that all your characters will have access to all your mounts? And that you will be able to switch between any of them on the fly? What happens if you purchased the same horse on 2 different characters, but levelled them differently? Will you now have 2 of the same one in your Collection, but with different stats? What if you want to get rid of a horse? How will that work? How will you feed your mounts? What becomes the point of having stables in every city? What will be the point of stable space, if you can have unlimited mounts in your Collection? What will happen to all the stable space that has already been bought? Will we get our gold back?

To make matters worse, you can now buy mounts from the Crown Store. That's fine. They will automatically go into your Collection, but there is something I don't understand. Do they become separate mounts that you need to feed as well? Or do those mounts act as skins for mounts you already own? On the live stream, Paul Sage states at around 24:45 that all the mounts that have been purchased and have skills now become those riding skills. What? Can you apply these "Riding Skills" to any mount you own? Does this mean that all mounts are now equal and only act as skins for your "Riding Skills"?

Also, does anyone know what the current maximum stable space is?
EDIT: I found out. The maximum stable space is 6.

I think that riding skill is based on individual characters.
So instead of a horse being faster or more stamina, it will be a character with those skills.
I'm guessing it may be similar to how WoW have their setup.
Each mount is account wide, but requires a certain level to ride it.

I think whatever you fed your mounts will be added to that characters skill point system.
They may still have a stable space option. Similar to their bank spaces?

So, in theory, you can raise your riding skill indefinitely in Speed, Stamina, or Carry, and any mount you ride will have the same stats?

Ah, just when I think everything is settled there is a new area of the game for Zos to royally mess up.

Does that mean that the speed horse I bought for 40k+ and then upgraded every day for max speed will no longer be fast if the character riding him isn't fast?

    Sheesh.

Is there any way Zos won't find to mess over existing customers?

From what Ive read itll essentially be a SUPER Horse. Everything youve done up to this point with your horses will be superimposed on all of your horses.

So the 50 points in Speed on one horse will transfer over to the Horse with 50 points in Stamina and vice versa.

Its a bit late and I dont feel like hunting down the link. But if I find it tomorrow and this is still active and hasnt had the link posted Ill do so in the morning.

I liked the idea that my mount was getting faster, stronger, better... now it's the rider? I don't like it.

Well at least I won't have to swap between my cyrodiil horse and my bag horse anymore. For those that are just starting out, I suppose they will take 150 days to max riding level.

Thanks for this. Always wanted a speedy dark horse, now I can have that. If I didn't hoard gold I'd start feeding a backpack horse to prepare, but meh.

Every update seems like Christmas. I just hope the 12 month "exclusive" mount "reward" is satisfactory.
