Anybody else refusing to use the cash, er crown shop except for DLC?

Is there anyone else besides myself who will not use the cash shop (crown shop) except to purchase DLC? I refuse to legitimize the purchase of costumes, mounts, dyes, weapons or whatever other money stealing items they decide to hock in there.

I'll buy playable DLC with the crowns from my ESO Plus membership but I refuse to encourage ZOS' development of the typical F2P garbage that will eventually flood the store despite any official claims otherwise.

I hope they don't sell weapons unless they're just skins. I'll definitely buy mounts, pets and costumes.

I plan to avoid the cash shop like it has Ataxia and Brain Rot disease...it is a skeever after all. To support it validates Zenimax's use of it and encourages more items in the cash shop instead of in game.

ESO Plus is basically a rental or lease of the DLC until you buy it with crowns. If you don't buy it, you cannot play it if you stop subscribing to ESO Plus.

I assume they used us as unwitting suckers to pay for their development costs after release knowing full well they were going to drill us in the ass as hard as they could as soon as enough income was brought in to recover what ever they needed to.

I'll continue to sub, the game is still enjoyable to me and I don't see any reason "yet" to leave. However if they start selling items besides cosmetic benefits I'm gone.

If I have to spend money outside of my normal subscription (which is 100% to support new lore/content, as I do enjoy that) in order to keep up with PVP I will simply move on.

Here I thought I was paying $15/mo to play a game. It was so much more complicated than I thought!

I'll continue to pay my subscription (albeit now as an ESO Plus member) and spend only the Crowns that come with it, as long as I still feel that it's worth the subscription fee (which to me it currently is), and as long as I don't feel that I need to spend any money to buy additional Crowns in order to get the gaming experience that I want from the game.

As soon as I feel like I need to buy extra Crowns to keep up, I'm out of here. As long as the subscription doesn't increase in price, and as long as I can continue to access everything that I want to access with nothing more than the subscription fee, and as long as the game is still fun, I'll stick with it.

I'll continue to sub as well. Hopefully we can purchase the DLC with crowns. If this is indeed the case I'll then be able to purchase the DLC just incase I ever have to stop my sub.

I need to see what the prices are for items on the Crown Shop, but I will assuredly spend the 1500 I get each month for a sub, and the extra 1700 or so I'll get for my past devotion to the game.

I want more character slots and I imagine they will be on the Crown Shop, and I want a Dog pet. Beyond that I'll probably buy some of the Horse/Guar skins - the costumes and consumable items don't interest me.

My support or disdain for the shop will depend on how well it is implemented, how reasonable the crown costs are, and the quality of what they're providing. I'll also expect to see plenty of cool/good things still available through play as well.

If the cash shop has fun items and they don't seem to be draining the game of anything truly good then I'll use it and continue as a plus member. If they start selling immersion-breaking costumes or transition all aesthetically pleasing future armors to the shop rather than possible via crafting in game then I'll start considering moving on.

I'm seriously considering removing my payment information and ending my subscription. I have about a week to decide what I'm going to do and I plan to spend that time talking to my friends in game. I may very well move on to another game I recently tried if enough of them are willing to try it too.

I've played games with a cash shop that were free to play and all but one was selling pay to win items that ruined what could have otherwise been fun games. I don't think I want to go down that road again with ESO because I believe once they need more cash items will appear in the cash shop that are pay to win or required boosters to finish a brutal quest.

The one thing I have been really anticipating a F2P move for is the option to buy bag/bank slots via the store. Surely they will have it, that's a cash cow for F2P games. Aside from DLC, this is the only thing I will be using the cash shop for, starting on day 1.

If you pay for a sub, you get the DLC's for free, but if you ever stop the sub, you lose access to the DLC's.

I think it would be better to pay no sub and just buy the DLC's and therefore always have access. They need to have a bigger bonus to having a sub.

It largely depends on the pricing and frequency of the DLCs. If the subscription cost is $15/month, and each DLC costs $60, then if the frequency between DLCs is lower than one every 4 months you're better off buying them. If you get 1 DLC every 3 months at that price, though, you're better off with a sub.

Of course, it also depends on the replayability of the DLC. If it's something you'll play through in a month or two and never touch again, then it's less likely that you'll care about whether you still have access to it after ending a subscription. Of course, we're all hoping (and by all, I mean those of us who play as well as ZOS) that any DLC will be of high quality and that you'll want to keep access to it.

That is kind of how it works now, isn't it? If your sub lapses, you can't play. But I never heard anyone complain, "P2P is just renting/leasing Elder Scrolls Online! You cannot play it if you stop subscribing!"

I understand concerns about Pay-To-Win or new content becoming fewer and far between or an influx of immature players. But I don't understand this concern at all.
