ZOS: I would cancel ESO Live if I were you...

ESO Live is a forum for you to talk to your fanbase, but now you have made this item-shop marketing decision based solely on a short-term "profit spreadsheet"; you really do not want to hear what your fanbase has to say.
I would at least disable chat or something.

If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.

Write this on the back of your box and see how many sales you get!

You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
I for one won't resub until:
1.) You fix lag.
2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

The only thing I would ever want out of an item shop for this game is an "item" to change your characters look. That's it. This game doesn't need an item shop like Guild Wars 2 has which makes since since it's an free to play after you buy game and this has a monthly subscription.

A bit off subject I know but just my 2 cents.

I think most of the decent staff are already sending out their CV's.
Nothing but lies and failed promises with this company, don't want to get tar'd with that brush, notice we haven't heard anything from Paul for a while....cos he no longer works there.
At least we can finally bury the dead horse now.....and roll out the Cash Cow. MOOOooooOoooOoo$$$$$$$$.

Notice the forum mods are the first to be cut, peeps saying what the feck they want all over the boards now. lol
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

They already announced they would be selling costumes in their store, though they really need to work the system better if they want it to sell like the costume pieces in GW2 does. Needs to be more customizable like theirs are. They also announced they would be selling content essentially, which GW2 (at least during the time I played it) never did. We'll see how this flies. Hopefully this means they will actually get content out there. We're 9+ months into the game and the only real content they have pushed was Craglorn, Dragonstar Arena, and some vet dungeons.

@zos_PaulSage this still works...maybe they forgot to delete it..
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.

Nope this fanboy does not support this.

Now I have to agree with Angry Joe on one thing he said in his release review.

So, after the game went live I played for about a month and a half then unsubscribed. During that time, I joined a guild. When I came back there were 4 out of the 69 people in that guild who were still playing. I would estimate 75% of them quit within the first two months. This is with a game that cost $60-80 just to get in the front door. I said four were still playing, but all four of those players had unsubscribed for a portion of last year, and were not really planning on sticking around (like myself).

It is a "thing" to make a private guild, invite a few dozen people, then after a few months when the guild has nothing but inactive players, you have a personal 500 slot bank. People do this primarily because there was a design decision to use limited bag space to limit access to professions.

At a certain point, a lack of players becomes a reason people leave the game. Nothing they do in terms of game feature development (aside from perhaps completely eliminating the nonsensical inventory management side-game) that will suddenly make this game worth $15/mo. to the 52/69 players of my guild who left after just a month or two. They're smart to do what they can to steer clear of that.

I couldn't agree more with the OP.

"We listen to your feedback. We read the forums and your opinions are very important to us".

What a crock of absolute bullsht. These forums have been exploding over the last few weeks with loyal customers practically begging ZoS not to do this.

I used to support them for the most part. I can't now. Not anymore. I will never trust ZoS again. Shame on me for doing so in the first place.

They never said they would do exactly as we asked. That would be literally impossible to do.
What they said was they Listen. Which, time and again, they have proven.
I'm a little leery of what this new change will bring, like everyone, I'm afraid that it may lead to a pay to win system. However, that HASN'T HAPPENED YET. Until I see it with my own two eyes, I will stay with the game.

Listening, doesn't mean they will do what you say, cause you do not necessarily know what is actually best for the game and their company. Doing what you want them to do, could be detrimental to the game. For all you know the parent company, Zenimax, was going to shut down the servers because the profits was not justifiable by the money invested, or perhaps Zenimax was going to leave a skeleton crew for fixing bugs, but no new content was going to be made.

So just because people on the forums were saying "no!!, Do not go B2P or F2P" doesn't mean these people actually know what is best, and certaintly doesn't mean that ZOS should do what they say.

Well I have seen it with my own two eyes. Time and time again. There is zero reason to assume that ZoS is going to be any different with their cash shop than every other B2P game that made a bunch of empty promises. And for the record I used to be on your side of the isle. defending them constantly. Sorry. I won't defend them anymore. Nor will I believe a single word out of anyone's mouth that works for ZoS. Ever again. Ever.

You really believe ZoS is gonna be some kind of "white knight" here and diverge from all the cash shop options that every single other B2p game has? They will do whatever they think is in the best interest of making the glorious mighty dollar. This change makes that perfectly clear. Don't kid yourself. I used to think maybe ZoS was different. I convinced myself that due to the reputation of the ES franchise, that things might be different here. There is history, reputation, and above all, integrity. That's what I used to tell myself and others when I would come to this forum time and time again to defend them. Not anymore. I guess I have gone to the dark side now. I detest ZoS at the moment. Just a bunch of greedy, lying suits. Period.

I actually don't believe one bit that they'll be a "white knight." I believe they'll do what they think is best for their company, regardless of what the fans think. That's how a company works. However, I WILL be waiting to see what happens with it before I start screaming to the hills that the sky is falling.

If they listened to the playerbase this would have not been the decision.

The forums have been really AGAINST F2P. Just look at all the F2P rumor threads where people said they'd leave if that happened.

It's pretty obvious the player base prefers subscription model.

However, the greedy jerks running the company obliviously have something else in mind. Everyone who's played MMOs for a few years or more know that cash shops are just there to exploit money from players.

If they want their brand to last decades from now they will promise that the cash shop will never become pay to win. Simple as that.
They may make a buck or two here or there (maybe three!) but as with all other buy to win games they will lose massive respect. It would be a white-knight move to make a promise now that the item shop will only ever be cosmetic, but like you I seem to think they won't do that; and that they will think dollar > brand-name > longetivity.
