Yes I know this spec is not optimal currently but I have been a magicka DK since release I'm so tired of being like 465454322 DKs out there....

I was using steel tornado last with a new build i have been testing but I noticed my crits were not increasing with my DK abilities... Molten Arminents 30 % for 6 secs and I believe its Sea of oblivion 10% both are not increasing my crits... Does anyone know what's going on here...

Molten Weapons does not increase your crits, just your weapon power.

With Sea of Oblivion only targets damaged by the flames from that skill will see an increased crit damage.

Your going to get most of your crits from the DW passives and using Daggers with those. And of course the Precise Traits on those daggers. Oh, and gear too. Hundings Rage/Ashen Grip is a nice combo for a Stamina DK. It's what I use on mine. I use One Hand/Shield on mine, just more for Role than anything else. But, he is a death dealing machine.

Molten Weapons bad, Igneous Weapons good. That is step one.
Sea of Flames* bad, Flames of Oblivion good. That is step two.
Molten is only a 6 sec buff and does not compare to the light/heavy attack buff you get to the entire 1min buff of Igneous Weapons. Plus, you want to give this igneous buff to people in group rather than the Molten to JUST you.
Flames of Oblivion crit chances only applies to enemies being damaged by it.

Regardless of how 'stamina' you want to be, until 1.6 you will have to put some effort into magicka. You will want Flames of Oblivion on, and still use Unstable Flames for the bleed which will take a toll on your magicka. This does not mean you have to put spell crit or spell dmg though, just some magicka pool. You will still want weapon crit/ wpn damage type gear. I would also consider Caltrops in your build. In essence, you will be a bleed machine so the CoA helm/shoulders would be your best friend with this build. Hope this helps :)

For sure you want Igneous Weapons. One cast will last you most fights. There is even enough time to cast the spell and wait for you magic pool to fill back up and then engage the enemy. You will still have 40 to 50 seconds left on the buff.

Its always my Skill #1, in that it is the first skill I pop before any battle. I have it on both weapon bars too.

Caltrops, Flames of Oblivion, Steel Tornado are my definitely on my bar right now.. Batswarm is also on it due to low cost and being able to recast it as soon as its off this allows me to not have depend on dragon blood heals..Ingenious is on my single target bar..

    Any ideas?

Running 240 weapon damage 115 spell damage
    2500 stamina 1600 Magicka 2980 health
    55% weapon crit
    36% spell crit with oblivion

Molten Weapons only increases the crit chance of your WEAPON attacks, i.e Light and Heavy attacks. It doesn't increase your Weapon Ability crit chance. So basically you get 2-3 LA weaves in after casting MW that gain the +30% crit chance, which is a complete waste over Igneous.

I think molten weapons gives the crit buff to the group as well. I have been a stamina DK my whole eso time, and are VR14 btw. I know also its not the "best", but I HATE being like anyone else. Actually, when I first chose the dragon knight, was because I wanted to be a tank, since I thought there would be a lack of tanks out there.

So, I don't use molten weapons, I use the fire damage one, because I hate spamming it every 6 sec. But you do get stamina when using that ability because of the earthen hearth passive, and it doesn't cost much magicka, so I guess it would work too. I use the medium armor dodge skill, and jump in and aoe lock them with talon for more damage to stunned foes.
