Improved tools for group management (roles? )

Presently, a pvp group lead has at least two unrelated tasks. They are the only group member capable of inviting other players, and are the only group member that has a unique visual indicator in maps.
Similar to how guilds work, it might be useful for groups to have multiple associated roles, for example, inviting others to group. It might also be useful for groups to be able to assign unique visual indicators in addition to "crown" to assist in group tactics.

Any other thoughts on things that might be useful for group organization in Cyr?
Another that comes to mind is a vote for group kick e.g if an afk player is erroneously passed crown.

Yes! Currently I use autoinvite to manage the invite task and I have a privately constructed add-on that allows me to change the colors of chevrons in map mode based on that player's guild rank, but there is no solution for my fat fingers when I accidentally pass crown to someone I meant to kick.

I would like to see an ability to configure the groups by class or function as well so instead of picking out each character individually for certain tasks I can just send DK's or NB's to do their thing. I would love to see a function where the map icon and HUD icon could be unique for various ranks and function within a group. I would also like to see a friends or guildies option so I can see where my Allies are on the map and coordinate more closely with them and keep track of their movements.

It's a shame this thread hasn't had further responses. Alternative icons for healers / damage dealers etc would be useful, providing they aren't excessively intrusive.

I completely agree. This was reported to community managers several times and we were told devs were looking into it in june. More than 6 months later there has still be no improvement about it but the crown which had many issues at the beginning.

Classic MMO have many group icons to determine who is the tank for example and so on. This could help not only PvP but also PvE groups.

Ppl will rather QQ about how bad their opponents are, or how overpopulated they are, depending of their (those complaining) number of deaths.
On top of role icons, I'd implement possibility to move players between groups.

Us sorcs should all have a separate symbol in groups, so the others know who will be abandoning them when things get bad.

Yes, absolutely, doooo this ZOS. Let us assign colors to the v-signs. I want to know who is where in PvP. Easily. So that it's actually possible.

Youuuu don't need it anyway. Sorc is the crown and the rest are the DKs :disagree: .

Would be welcomed / very helpful. For example a designated leader for each subgroup of a raid. Yes, I'd like that.

Right now, it's extremely difficult for PUGs to have any proper tactics when attacking or defending... it's basically follow the crown, and hope that everyone charges at more or less the same time. I realize that guilds and the like can use TeamSpeak or whatever... but for the LFG types like myself, this thread has my interest. (on a side note, the current lack of tools can make it quite hard for a leader to actually organize an effective group)

Sub-group leaders... assigning roles to sub-groups, being able to actually pick who plays in which sub-group etc. etc. There are probably dozens of possibilities here.

I am still learning the ins and outs of PvP, but I personally find the strategic and tactical elements fascinating (one of the reasons PvP has got my attention is that this game is not just about who has the best build and armour!). More tools aimed at enhancing these elements.... well, just awesome :)
