Either a blue one handed axe of shock or the blue staff of frost. set to auto loot so i don't usually check till i get back to safer pastures. I had completed the entire dungeon before i realized the recording had stopped.

In terms of set up, how involved is the process for setting up the Oculus to run well with ESO?
Guides on setting up for Skyrim had a bunch of things that needed to be tweaked or coded into the .ini files -- is this also the case with ESO or is it more just a matter of moving the interface into the center of the field of view?

Pretty painless mostly just moving the interface around, couple/few addons.
The Vorpx settings were pretty easy as well.

Have seen a lot of talk about using Xbox 360 controllers with the Oculus.

For clarification purposes, is it a requirement or simply for convenience sake?

Personally do my gaming with a Razer Nostromo gamepad and a Naga mouse. Willing to switch if necessary, but not inclined to otherwise.

Convenience and comfort I play seated and i use the left stick to move the right stick to control the mouse (my hips) The Oculus controls the mouse as well so the stick gets used for corrections and turning around. Seeing as you cannot see the keyboard in the Rift this makes for an elegant solution for me. Using the controls you have is fine if you know them blind. Also Sit Up Straight proper posture is very important in the Oculus and helps the head movement feel more natural.

    Thank you for clarifying. =)

Move around with the left thumbstick on my Nostromo and have all the keys I need mapped out to sit comfortably under my hand. Sounds like it will work out just as I need.

Appreciate the quick and helpful responses.

    Hello :)
I have bought those as well, but could only get them to work with the test program house/garden.
Do you have a link or could maybe write what to do to make those work? I use windows 8, but have also a macbook, but thats not for gaming.

I am using a program called Vorpx to enable Oculus Rift game play.
http://vorpx.com/ Everything is running as Admin. Set rift display mode to extended. For me it does not go directly to the rift. I start the game with Vorpx enable and the game starts in side by side mode on my primary monitor. I will then hit alt/enter, alt/tab and move window over to the rift then i hit alt/enter again to go full screen in the Rift.
Hope this helps, Anymore questions i will be glad to answer.

Any idea how it compares to nvidia 3d vision? Oculus gives you VR, but I do hear complaints about nausea and low resolution.

I have 3dvision myself. For ESO I don't think I'll be changing it for the OR, but there are some games out there that might be interesting to try out. OR has built in head-tracking I presume?

Love 3D in general. Just a really hard sell, apparently. People think it's a gimmick and nothing convinces them until they try it out.

For some games Vorpx runs in 3d, some not. This game does not run in adaptive or z-buffer mode so it is 3d-ish.
When the oculus is running full 3d it blows 3dvision out of the water. The 3d effect is not created by turning on or off alternate frames thru glasses. no eye fatigue and your focus is set on infinity.

I can't wait for Oculus Rift to get into production. The first MMO to incorporate it (meaning everything looks far away instead of right in your face) will be the best MMO until the rest catches up. I'm soooo in there. I would build a PC for that (I'm a Mac user).

Interesting. True, shutter glasses result in loss of brightness (though apparently there's light boost monitors for this). Other than that though I've never found it particularly taxing. It is in any case way less tiring/nauseating than 2D.

The combination with head-tracking is what interests me most, especially for 1st person games. There's this ww1 flight sim that I'd like to play but it more or less requires head-tracking. I've tried TrackIr, but that just doesn't work for me. A solution that combines head tracking with 3D is appealing.

Thanks for the answer. If I understand you correctly, you use The Rift (see what I did there ;) ) as a second monitor? If that is the case, I have tried that, but then the screen was not horizontaly, but vertical looking. I read somewhere I have to open up the oculus and turn the screen 90 degrees. I have not heard of that link tho, so thanks alot :)

pretty nice. Watched with my cardbox VR headset.

Oculus needs to speed up the thing. Endless developing of "magical" things may not lead to an good outcome for any in the market. Think Google Glass.

So far, on my rainbow chart, HoloLens still ranks first, Oculus was pretty attractive before, but its snail-paced developing is really disappointing.

@RSram yes you can wear glasses with the Rift.
As well as having 2 different lenses for near or far sighted people.
You are also able to change the focus/distance from your eye for each lens.
This is for the DK2 the CV1 is subject to change.

Resurrecting your thread on you to ask something.

Booting up ESO with vorpX going gives me
vorpX Error: the selected rendering API is not supported.
and it does not run itself in side by side.

    Input?
