Considerations for ESO part 2

Ok, so I have been reading a few post and I am seeing this big uproar over the nerfing of grind spots. After consideration I think I have an option that would make everyone; developers and players happy.

Eliminate levels all together. Players start off with no level. They do not progress to a level, they never level at all (Everyone the same). "But salkand, where is the fun, how do we progress and compete against each other?" Attribute and skill points, my friends. Doing anything in the game nets you attribute and skill points. Questing, killing monsters, PVP. The more attributes you get, the stronger your character can become (he still has no level). The more skill points, the more he can do and learn to do (NO level).

It would be up to the developers to determine the rate at which anything in game gives rewards. There are obviously balance issues that they would need to consider that I won't even attempt to go into here.

Now, for your second questions, "salkand, what about equipment? are we all capable of wearing and using the same equipment? I worked really hard to get to my level to use this armor, now any noob can use it too?"

Why no, my angry upset friend. Certain armor would require you having a certain number of either attribute, skill, or both. Also, this opens it up so that certain armor may require you to have a certain amount of attribute points invested into a certain category, or a certain learned skill (If that skill is applicable to that item for some reason).

With such a system in place, questing and leveling no longer matters. Grinding no longer matters. Because EVERYTHING works towards improving your character. Just like IN REAL LIFE! (ECHO ECHO ECHO).

This is similar to how Star Wars Galaxies was at launch before the NGE and the CU. I didn't play that game at the time so I don't know if it would be any better than the leveling and what not that we have now in most of the mainstream mmo's.

It's actual based on a fantasy game I played as a child. I wish I remember the name. Throughout the game, the only way to improve was to put your attribute points (There were no skill points in this one) into certain areas.

Strength, stamina, speed, agility etc. And every piece of armor or weaponry required certain numbers in each attribute. It was a very neat game.

People would grind for those attribute points I think. Really, that's what champion points are and people still plan on grinding for those...

People are going to grind no matter what. I can't stop that, you can't stop that. The developers can't stop that. So if we can't stop it, we use it.

In theory, a balanced game would allow a player to grind, get whatever points, xp or anything that he wants at the same rate someone questing would.I think this idea simply lets people play however they want for their sets, etc. This is a, in my opinion, easier to balance for PVE and PVP. Grinding V questing, etc.

Edit: Also remember, it's a lot harder to balance XP versus attributes. And the real issue with grind spots is XP. The developers don't want people getting XP as fast as they are from grinding. Removing XP completely, then you just focus on attributes and skills. Easier to balance. If you balance the game correctly, anything could work. An idea where the more mushrooms your character eats the stronger he gets, could work with the right balancing.
