In-Game Map and pressing 'R'

When you are in the map it says 'R' does something with your current location. What does it actually do when you have the Map up and press R? I cannot tell if anything actually happens.

EDIT: I figured it out - it centers the map on you lol

If you're looking at a map that you're not on (ie. you're in Auridon, but you're looking at the Craglorn map) hitting R returns it to the map that you're on.

Samadhi

If you are viewing the world map or the map of a zone that you are not in, the R key will take your view back to your specific location.
This is also true if you are in a city that the map zooms in on but are viewing the map of the complete zone; it will zoom back in on the city.
