Suggestion Relative to Lack of Storage (and there is such a thing, oh yes!)

To Our Most Esteemed Developers,
Dear Players,

Once you've maxed your bank space (240), bought all the backpacks you're allowed to (110), purchased a good pack horse and stuffed it with as much oats as you possibly could (20+50), you have 420 inventory slots in all to store resources and adventure with. When developers think of their precious servers, I suppose this is a lot, but if you consider the number of: various metals and tempers, cloths and tempers, woods and tempers, runes, FOOD components, alchemical components, lures, pieces of armour and weapons you must keep on hand to learn their traits, trait and style stones, books and recipes, pets, etc. you must keep on hand, 420 slots is very little indeed. So you resort to transforming your other characters into mules. At this point, 5 of my 6 playing characters are mules, and they are as heavily laden as... well, mules. My two mules are begging for mercy. Why do I keep so much? Because it simply doesn't make any sense to sell stacks of material at a low price to have to re-purchase later, when I know my lowbies will need them, at a possibly higher price because the market is now a high-end player market. Maple is not only rare, it's quite expensive now precisely because of its rarity. The majority of players are now veterans and it shows as you cater to them relentlessly.

I desperately need more storage space and something tells me I can not be the only player in this predicament.

The quick and dirty way would be to allow us to purchase additional character slots (new characters which could be converted into mules). You make money. Yay! It's not elegant, but it works as long as we can do it from our existing account.

A much more elegant solution would be to allow us to have a Personal Vault. Now, what's that? At first, it's like a personal bank, accessed from a banker possibly, which has a single tab with an x number of slots (please be generous). It could be purchased, or, much more interestingly from a gaming perspective, quested. Oh, but how? That would require some kind of virtual currency that would need implementation... writing all those quests... jeez, dunno.

Really? How about all those nice Achievement Points? What do we get for achieving these challenges? How about some rewards, huh? Like, for example, a Personal Vault, to which you could, with enough Achievement Points add another tab, and another, increasing your storage capacity, if that's what you want.
How about some vanity pets?
How about mount armour?
How about (one of the Holy Grails) a class weapon that levels up with you and acquires the power to perform a very special proc per y number of kills (fueled by kills).
How about class mounts?
How about hmmm... flying mounts? Don't you have those planned for the far future? I'm pretty sure I can divine those in the fog of Time...
How about Crafter Spells (post level 50 in said craft only. Req. Achievement Pts) that would enable a crafter to access his Personal Vault from anywhere? A Blacksmith to summon a Forge (Collapsible Forge)? A Jeweller to summon a jeweller workbench? A Provisioner to summon a camp fire? An Alchemist to summon an Alchemist's Table? Etc.
How about some very nice Passive class spells.
And speaking of spells, how about that elusive Spell Book (another Holy Grail)everyone has been talking about? Yes, the one that allows you to boost existing ones a bit, create new ones, create combos of existing ones (unstable combos, perhaps? Fun!)
How about Attunement Stones for Crafters that would allow them to attune their summoneable workstations to the special workstations of their choice found in the wild. Part purchased (the stone), part quested for some components specific to the workstation you wish to attune; you go to Magnus' Gift Forge, summon your Collapsible Forge, cast the attunement spell with Attunement Stone and components in stock and voila! Wherever you are, your Collapsible Forge can now produce Magnus' Gift equipment.
How about pet skins? Or better yet, new pets for mages? My Twilight is ok, but I'd love one of those mean Daedric bruisers armed with a sword, hehehe. C'mon, you have the models already! Make them weaker if you must, able to level up with us. Serenade us!
How about mods? Yes, those mods we all use that play havoc with our/your game. Have a look at Minion, take note of the ones that are popular and remake them, offer them, maintain them so there is no conflict with new versions of the game; offered as an option, who could complain? And it would allow you to wage war on mods, without being hostile to mods. A fishing mod isn't for everyone, and not even all fishers would enjoy knowing how many insect parts they have in stock by looking at their line as they might find this immersion breaking, but I do. When offered as an option, I don't see where the problem is; when imposed to all, I see the problem.

I've gone into the achievement section and added up the points. There is a grand total of 13,500 points at present by my lights. Now, I'm assuming that some of that content won't be appealing to all or even accessible. Those categories I have 'credited' if you like, or set aside for the time being. For example, Collectibles is purely based on luck (80); not everyone likes PvP, so Alliance War (610) is out unless you want a chorus of protests; not everyone likes crafting but even those who craft don't necessarily undertake all six branches so let's say 4 branches on average (-370); in Dungeons, Trials (640) and Veteran (1315) is not for everyone; and imposing as a must on all Fishing (190) is a recipe for mutiny. I love Fishing, but that's just me. The rest I consider a must. So, exemptions amount to 3,205 and that leaves us with 10,295. Let's round down to the nearest thousand: 10,000. That represents a 2.95% leeway (not everyone will find/do every little thing).

10,000 points. That's your budget, ladies and gentlemen, developers all. We achieve something, and you allow us to pick and choose what we want from a list of great stuff. The fun! The agony! What to choose first? The Spell Book? The Personal Vault? A pet? The Pet to Rule Them All? A Passive? Oooooh, it's mental cruelty!!!

When I leave a zone to move on to the next, I have completed all achievements there. By level 25 I had accumulated 1000 points approximately.

Naturally, you could also just charge us for this... Not as much enjoyable (for us), of course.

The fun part for you here is that you get to 'pull' your players into parts of the game they may not have been willing to involve themselves into using a nice bag of carrots. PvP, Group Dungeons and whatnot might just grow on them once seriously tried.

It also is a wonderful way to increase gamers' fidelity. It allows you to introduce controversial content slyly, without risk of being criticized (or much less, I should say) because it's all optional.

Why would a gamer who is only interested in reaching the eerie (the high numbers, V10+) take the time to enjoy the game? That kind of gamer rushes through the game, ignoring everything that doesn't 'show off'. Rank shows off. Fancy apparel shows off. Special pets or mounts show off. Unique abilities show off. They want to be recognized as 'achievers', yet they ignore Achievement Points because there is no yield. This strikes me as silly.

This was my attempt to remedy this situation and obtain the frigging extra STORAGE SPACE I NEED BEFORE I GO AS NUTTY AS A FLYING FRUITCAKE.

Thank you for your kind attention to my humble, yet long-winded, suggestion.

P.S. I am aware of your plans to reduce the number of Provisioning ingredients. See my post in that section.

I'd have no issue with achievement points unlocking something like that, so long as they could unlock other things as well, since I personally don't need more space.

Someone suggested using The Harborage as a storage. It's a solo instance, so that'd be a good place to put a closet or something for costumes, trinkets, etc.

I have two characters as dedicated mules myself, they never see life outside the bank and are currently severely depressed, one is even hearing voices :'(

I too held on to just about every crafting item imaginable, however have weeded it down to a stack of each trait, green-gold tannin/tempers, food ingredients, flowers, green-gold runes......most necessary/expensive items.

I do realize its not easy starting a new alt. I keep deleting and remaking but those low level items are easily bought and paid for by my breadwinner toon. Also our guild bank is for crafting materials (no weapons/armor), so normally there is just abt any item you may need there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against more (and cheaper) bank space at all. Simply saying it's not really game breaking to have such a lack of space once you get settled in and get a better grasp of need/hoard, which is why there isn't a huge outcry for more.

Even real life demands you decide what you need to keep, or eventually the city is going to condemn/fine you ...lol
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

420 slots is a TON of inventory space. If you find yourself needing more than this, you are actually not throwing out or selling things that you should be.

Tldr, I got to the part about how rare maple is. If items are rare, I suggest you sell while they are worth something because eventually, nothing will be rare.
