Horses - Speed vs. Stamina

Hi there. Maybe this is the million and first thread about this but I wasn't able to find any covering it. So here goes my question:

It looks like my horse can sprint forever. And since it didn't got fixed since the game was released I assume it is not a bug but a feature. Now is there any use in feeding my horse to have any stamina at all?
Like will it run faster in sprint? Or will it be more unlikely to unsaddle me?

If there is any use at all to stamina, is there a rule of thumb on how much points to put into it?

Thanks.

(And no, I don't care about capacity, so spare me with that one.)

Increasing Stamina increases the chance of not being unhorsed when attacked. All horses can sprint forever.
ZOS mentioned they'll be adding mounts in the future, but only horses will have this infinite sprint.

    It is working as intended.

Your Stamina Reserve has to be pretty high to avoid being unhorsed, so I have never put any points into Stamina on a Horse. 20 Bags and the rest in Speed is how I do it (really 19 bags and the rest in Speed as you get one of each when you spend the 50th point)

I find in PvE that I can run past most mobs before they even aggro on me, and when they do, they rarely knock me off due to the distance I have covered.

PvP might be different, but keep in mind the distances between things in Cyrodill is huge, so Speed is your best friend there.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Each of my characters has 2 horses. One named Speed who is fed apples. The other is Bag, only fed oats. Speed for PvP and Bag for PvE. Don't know why anyone would choose stamina?

It's not really a PvP/PvE comparison as speed is used in PvE as well like trials speed runs. It's more like:

    Speed: PvP, Trials, Anywhere/Anytime
    Bags: Farming
    Stamina: never
Guild: STACK n BURN (gm) PC - NA
    CP 810 18 Maxed Characters:

    How I understand this:
When you sprint, you horse stamina goes down over time. If you get hit, you can se some amount of that stamina being drained. I believe when you have maxed stamina on horse, you can sprint longer before that stamina pool will reach 0. When it is reached 0, you are as vulnerable to fall off as for the other horses.

The stamina horse is btw the best looking one :)

The stamina horse is the only black one then? I might buy it if that is the case.

It will be irrelevant to Senche and Guar, each mount is supposed to have it's on specialities, but it will still be relevant to horses.
