Low level dungeon bots back?

On the topic of walking - how DO you switch from run to walk??

You have to set a key for walking in the settings. Like remove UI there isn't a key set up for it already.

How do you recognise a bot then? Just slow movement and erratic behaviour? What do you classify as erratic behaviour? I've never thought about it/or if i came across one didn't realise it might be a bot

I took some footage of bots in the early days. This might give you an idea.



Things like several characters acting as a group (not emoting - there is a legit add on for that), characters just suddenly appearing to join a suspicious group, very low level players still wearing rags in areas they should not be (though if it is just one player this is less suspicious).

I have rolled a couple of new toons, so I have been doing a lot of low level areas and have not seen a bot for a good 6 months.

I do miss running a pain train into then in dungeons.

Spend an hour hanging around harvesting plants to make potions? Whatever for? That's annoying to other players who try to come through the area and it's ... well I can't imagine it's fun.

I've got 8 characters, and as they run around, they harvest plenty between them. Between that, food making and food and potions in cabinets and dropped by opponents, I can't imagine needing that many potions. Heck I end up selling a lot of the ones I find for a few gold (I mean like 3-5 for a stack of 10 potions) 'cause I don't need them and someone else might.

Yeah, I'm mostly broke most of the time, but I'm not playing for money, I'm playing for fun.

I'm going to chalk this whole thread up to being from someone who wasn't actually around when the real bots were and they're bored and seeing bots where none exist just so they have something to talk about here on the forums.

Hah that was quite amusing. Yes I think I've been lucky and haven't seen this. But then I only started playing recently

I just watched them all, wow, this is creepy! I haven't seen this before.

If someone spams me with several PMs while I am (manually) collecting my herbs in Coldharbour, I ignore them and file a report for harassment. There is nothing that requires me to respond to messages from another player while I am busy doing other things.
I especially report when people start sending me swear-filled whispers about how they are reporting me for taking "their" flowers when I get to them first.

I have not seen any bots, only fierce competition over nodes and those
lovely people that leave worms!

Returning bots is a good sign. They are just anxious for 1.6 to release. Bots ingame=healthy game

I too do lots of flower harvesting in Hollow City, especially when I'm on the phone or hanging out with people in my house. I have the chat window closed during this because I'm having real life conversations. I'm sure my V14 alliance war major alchemy toon isn't mistaken for a bot, but I would caution anybody about assuming "bot" based on that type of behavior. Of course, better to report if you truly suspect, but this thread shows that there are plenty of reasons for legitimate players to do things some posters view with suspicion.

ETA - off topic of OP, but directed to other comments made here:

People who leave the worms should be teleported back to the wailing prison.

We should be able to shield-bash players that Bolt Escape around Hollow City (or any city? I'd be open to that).

Also off topic - I used to leave worms as until I read the forum I had no clue it prevented the node from re-spawning. I thought the nodes that only had worms just spawned that way. Since I found out what was going on I always take them!

Not responding to a whisper doesn't auto equal a bot. I spend most of my time in my guild only chat. RPers may have whispers turned off all together. With CP30 and 1.6 many people have abandoned vet characters for now and are working on alts via grinding.

They've done a remarkable job bot bashing so far, that said they're bound to pop up trying something new from time to time.

Be careful who you think is a bot and be sure it is one before you report it.
I was accused of being a bot just because I am a VR14 in a low level delve looking for a particular boss to complete an achievement that I missed.

OK you got me. I like to make low level alts and act like a bot every so often so people will complain on forums. It is funny to me. Here is some footage of me pretending to be a bot: Acting Like a bot, maybe you can spot yourself in the video.

The only time I leave worms is when my backpack has gotten full and the autoloot leaves the worms behind. I'm certainly not going to delete good mats to make room for the worms just so I can delete them from my pack!

We should have friendly crowd control in game. It would be fun . Like the Anivia wall in league of legends.

I've been collecting worms ever since they said fish would be an ingredient, but watch them have the edible fish not be interested in current bait and will require us to gather gourmet bait to catch the fish needed for provisioning...
