Town Clothes - Crafting Costumes

When I'm out smiting people with my Aedric wrath or cleaving crabs in half with my mighty great sword I like to sally forth in gleaming armour across bugloss strewn fields (I find the blue contrasts nicely with the bloody trail of slaughter I leave behind).

When I'm at the tavern arguing with some feral carnist Bosmer over how disgusting meat-ale is (I swear his recent brew had malty undertones of "grandma's left foot with hints of ex lover), I prefer a more casual attire. Full plate becomes quite inconvenient once you have "broken the seal".

Everyone is in the same boat, stuck in their plate or leathers except for the flouncy frock wearers and no one takes them seriously when it comes to real drinking, eating and err fluffing the haystack in the stable.

As a skilled Master Clothier I would like to stitch myself and others up some fancy duds to wear town when taking time away from crushing the enemy like a ripe mango in my fist...mmm squishy mango...

I'd even take up a new craft to avoid accidents after the last keg has gone down but the greaves just won't in time...

Actually no, the post you have linked relates to converting a preferred armour's appearance into a costume and the link to your post relates to adding custom effects to your armour in the disguise slot. While I'm sure generic non armour based clothing has been suggested before it is still relevant to raise suggestions.

I would love a bevy of "casual clothes" They could even have their own buffs... maybe a hat helps speech-craft and give you 5% off with merchants. Maybe a pair of gloves gives better materials when deconstructing an item.

Of course... this concept would be better if towns were more than "merchant hubs"
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Yes! Give me causal clothes! Give me a whole wardrobe of different casual clothes!
And doing them as costume/disguise would make things easy enough I suppose...

SWG (again) had many casual cloting options besides armor. From hawtpants to t-shirts to gowns and traditional clothing. And yes, people wore them when not fighting.

    They got married-->formal clothing
They where dancing -->hawtpants or lingery (dancer's leopard anyone?)
They where buffing--> doctors wore a white labcoat
They where just chatting and walking through the world? --> dresses, pants, slippers anything

They where fighting (pre-cu) lots of people without armor having fun and shooting stuff in raids of 20 people.

In fact, armor was usefull, but you got less action to spend from your HAM-bar. Heavy armor protected you well, but less action(=stamina) then lesser or no armor. So without armor you could do more specials. Although Buffs made you better again :)

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

My female orc is of a particularly bountiful build so if she were to wear "hawtpants" she might just crash the server with her bootyfulness.

Orcish splendour aside, although I am not a dedicated RPer I imagine it would create a much more immersive environment for those who are. I do like to "dress for the occasion" though and I would like to change into town clothes when I am crafting or visiting the bank simply because it feels more natural.
