Hi everyone, I just got the game and started playing over the weekend. I wanted to put this here in the Alliance War section because my end goal is to focus mainly on pvp.

TLDR: I am looking for experienced left handed PVPers who can help me out with a key-mapping that will make gameplay as smooth as possible.

My current mapping is mostly on the number pad or close by.

Movement: 4, 5, 6, 8 for L, D, R, U respectively.
Skills : 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and + for ultimate.

Jump: "0"
Weapon Swap: "-"
Sheath/un: "*"
Quickslots: "/"
Crouch: "Num Lock"
Targeting: "Page Down"
Synergy: "."
Sprint: "MMB" (middle mouse)
Autorun: "MB4" (mouse 4)

I also switched all my interact hotkeys from "e" to the right arrow key (because it's near my thumb).

So basically if anyone can think of something I'm missing that will be crucial in PVP, or just has a better way to map keys for left handed play, I'm all ears. I'm sure that over time I'd figure out something that works better but I'd much rather spend my time practicing with the keys I'll be using in my end game.

Thanks in advanced.

    Not left handed but if I may. Use 4, 5, 6, and 2 for your movement keys. The num pad keys are in line which is actually advantageous. I am right handed but I use a razer nostromo for movement which has inline keys.

    With 456 and 2 for your movement keys your 3 fingers will rest together most of the time rather than split with the middle high and the other 2 lower. Besides being more ergonomic and natural this also leaves the top keys open for skills and easier to hit while strafing because your ring and index finger can go past your middle finger by rotating your wrist. For example if you had the traditional set up you would have to let off of 8 with your middle finger to hit "/" which would mean you would have to stop moving to use that ability.

    So..
    4= left
    5 = forward
    6= right
    2 = back

    I recommend it for anyone with in-line keys. I'd also recommend a razer nostromo to anyone as well because it opens up your thumb to more actions than just hitting space bar by seating a d-pab under it, along with several other buttons within the thumbs limited range of motion. My left hands thumb can hit a total of 10 buttons fluently with it.

    +1 on what armitas said im ambidextrous and uses to use a nostromo.

    I got used to using my Naga in eso so never tried it for this game but sure it would work just as well as in wow.

    I'm ambidextrous but I know the frustration of not knowing how to use right handed equipment . So yes , start with the number keys N build movement up first .

    I have a razer orbweaver and I put it down because the feeling of the thumb stick just pissing me off so much. I very much love my space bar only thumb.

    Consider binding Synergies to Mouse wheel up and 'interrupt / cc break' to Mouse wheel down. this will leave your '.' key free for something else if you need to swap things around.

    Yeah I took my stick off the nostromo. You can't feel it's orientation like you can a D-Pad.
