Ambient vlume too low, solutions?

I find it extremely annoying that ambient is toned way down compared to other volumes... I always love to play with high ambient volume since compared to walking in real nature, the sounds are often too quiet by default in games..

Problem here is that currently..

Master 100
Ambient 100
Effects 30
Footsteps 40
Dialogue 25
Interface 20

So you see.. Having volumes like that plus PC and speakers to max, the ambient is ok BUT... What ever other sound PC is doing, they are way out of line.. Everytime Skype call or Facebook notification hits it is like a grenade booming right in front of me >_<

I think they should equalize all those volumes so they are at audibly equivalent levels when set to same levels.. General boos in game volumes would also help to get PC sounds better.. Any addons or something to fix this for me?

EDIT: I also feel that separate weapon sound slider would be great. It always feel like weapon effects are way louder than any other effect in the game and thus, not very well balanced either.

Not sure if this will help with the issue at all. I was having some issues with specific sounds being way out of wack when I started and was able to fix it with the links I posted here.

NP, it seems the first link was removed sadly.

However yes, for me the issue was my speakers were set as stereo and some game sounds seemed to only work with surround enabled (was working fine on 5.1 headset) making the speakers surround but just two fixed the issue.

You could also check that you don't have any kind of sound dulling programs, I know Skype can be one to cause issues lowering sounds (normally mic) but and windows has an option as well to fade the sound out while in Skype calls etc.

Otherwise I can't really think of much more to help. If it's still an issue try making a thread in the support section or sending a ticket to see if there are any ideas ZOS or their support staff have.

Yes, Skype do lower the volume but only when call is active. Anywa, nothing seems to alter my situation so far.. For the time being, i just accept that volumes have to be out of balance when playing... Hopefully nobody call me when some monster sneak attacks me as it may prove fatal :D
