Removal of Veteran Ranks is better than adding more levels like some other MMOs

Capping levels at 50 is a good idea because it opens up the veteran content to many more players and all the elite gear you have now will still be elite gear and you won't have to replace it.

If the level cap had gone up, all of the gear you have now would be obsolete and everybody would have to make another push, also resulting in less players at the forefront.


Just pushing this out before I head off to work.
What are your thoughts?
Don't talk about how we should all be rewarded for CPs, there are plenty of other threads.

It actually isn't. Linear progression sucks and only worked in guild wars 1. It will fail in this game as well as in any other game it has been tried despite of the fact it's suposed to be the "best" system for MMOs (which must be why 99% of successfull MMOs don't use it)

Removal of the veteran system was a big mistake. Remember this in 6 months.

We're going to end up with both, likely. We will just have a level cap increase eventually instead of veteran level cap increases.

There will only be linear progression for your home alliance and at level 50 everything should be a lot more open.
