I tell you what, try posting this same thread in the Guild Discussions subforum.
I've come back to ESO after a small hiatus and am leveling new characters. I would love to join a guild with people like me who share common interest to make my leveling experience more enjoyable.
The guild can also simply be LGBT friendly (not themed for LGBT members but containing a few) with a casual feel. Thanks
There is a guild called Pacrooti's Hirelings that would be perfect for you. If you PM me Ill invite you. EU only.
I have never seen this issue about a LGBT guild before ESO. Is it really that big of a deal? I don't discuss my sex life with a bunch of virtual people in an mmo and don't care to hear about others sex life in guild chat. Oh by the way what does the T stand for?
It's about a safe space - but I guess for some it's kinda like joining a national guild, looking for people with a similar background. And not sex life - personal life in general. When you get close to your guildmates, you learn things about them: where they live, work, if they have a family. Especially if it's a smaller, social guild. If that happens, you want to be able to talk about it freely, don't you? LGBT-friendly guilds are generally accepting of different lifestyles.I have never seen this issue about a LGBT guild before ESO. Is it really that big of a deal? When I was a kid segregation was considered this terrible thing. Now it's in vogue again. Times change, I guess.
I apologize if someone thought I was trying to segregate myself from other sexual preferences, because that isn't what I am trying to do at all. I'm fine with joining any guild, but I wanted to see if there were any LGBT guilds first because it gives me other people who I can instantly relate to. It's hard to explain but it is a lot easier for me personally to make friends with someone who shares common interest with me. Sorry for any misconception!
You should just join a guild and not try to relate to people instantly.
Theres a certain joy to be found in getting too know someone completely different from yourself, theres no need to live in your own bubble (I mean no offense by that).
People are hateful sure, but not all and a majority of people ive talked too in this game are very nice people. Some of them gay some of them not. Dont try and hide yourself from hate, embrace it because honestly this is the only way people will stop caring about such things when it becomes the norm (and of course such things shouldn't be forced they should be natural which is my general point) - Join a guild, get to know people different from yourself and dont hide when one or two might be *** about who you are. Im straight and people are hateful towards me sometimes, yes the hate is different for you but the principal applies. Not really much you can do about it and the bubble will burst after a while. Do not be afraid. Just be yourself.
I hope you can appreciate my general point there and not find any of it offensive as that was not the intent.
why do guilds need to state that they are friendly to a certain sexual preference when most would just assume wed be nice to everyone

Coming soon: Race friendly guilds. Because we have to assume that everyone is prejudiced.
I've seen Newbie friendly too. Because we have to assume that old players hate newcomers.
I know LGBT+ people from all over the world: some are racial and/or ethnic minorities in their countries, some have politics that run counter to mine, some really like death metal and I have to shut my mouth because I like alt metal waaaay better. Just because people - including straight people - in LGBT+ friendly guilds decide to ban homophobia & transphobia in chat, doesn't make us an echo chamber. You should just join a guild and not try to relate to people instantly.
