Once again, i complain of mouth curve slider.

Poor Aranel is sad. Her mouth curve slider is adjusted all the way to the right which means (Or should mean) smile.

She is not smiling. See my problem? Why cant characters really smile? In most cases when mouth curve is maxed, it still seems like they are not even neutral on mood but still in side of unhappiness.

This in mu opinion, is bad design and should be corrected.

Usually I am all for more options, but if the result of changing this is that all the characters that have already been made also change, this is a huuuuuuge no. :( (sadface is relevant to subject matter)

GTA online has a cool feature.. You can change your character's facial animations and decide their mood from injured, afraid, angry, smug, to happy. You should use that idea ZOS.

LOTRO has mood system as well. That would really suit the Elder Scrolls well too.

For a note, i regret that i did not take screenshots of my first characters at launch. Then the mouth still went to smile with slider on right but i think that changed when NPOC facial animations got changed.

Change to old characters has allready happened by that. If and when this is corrected as should, they can easily allow one recustomisation of characters on the character selection screen.. I really really do not think it is nearly as hard as some people seem to think..

Other way is to extend the range value of the said slider which would keep existing characters slider values intact and only give more room to adjust on new characters. I would reroll my sad folks at once.

Several games, to include some older games, allow players to reflect the mood of the character by real time facial changes using slash commands.

However, I can't say that in even one of them that the mood representations looked good. Without saying which MMO it was (but it was one of the older ones), there was one where the "happy face" looked like the character was about to bite someone...

The problem -- I think -- is that the close-up view of a character's face really doesn't look like the view from further away. Many of the sliders have little apparent impact even when viewing the character close up during creation; how much should we expect the features to change when we view them from a normal camera viewing distance? They tend to blur together graphically.

It's like adding tattoos to your character's body when you're going to have clothing over them; or earrings, facial scars, and tiaras when you're going to wear a helmet. Sure, you can strip off the coverings (I have the option to never display the helmet turned on), but it looks stupid in-game to run around in your underwear.

One of my more recent alts had a slight smile, but I noticed it had gone away. I think something might have changed when they did the facial revamps.

I think a "mood" setting would work well. Something you can SET and then play. Not just an emote.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Using emotes does actually alter your character's expression even after the emote ends. If you want a smile, something like /laugh is a good way to get it.

I would say she looks desperate and ready to kick some ass. ;) One of my chars was made in a similar style, she is a serious girl.

None of my chars smile actually, not sure if this is due my personal preference or if this wasn't available at start. I would find it a bit strange if one of my chars smiles all the time, imagine you die and you still smile :D

But in general, a mood setting would be great. I don't even understand why we always lose the torch if we move. That's really limited by ZO and they hopefully work on that soon.

If Tomb Raider can have that, then ESO should as well.
