Will ESO go Free to Play?

With the removal of the 180 day payment option, it has left many people wondering what is really going on. I personally do not believe their "reason", mainly because ZOS misleads this community a lot. I have a feeling they are gearing up for console launch in May/June this year, which would be six months from when they removed the 180 day option. What do you all think will happen with ESO on the PC?

It will die as the console and PC servers won't be merged. F2P by June imo right in time for the financial year tick over.

Having said that if 1.6 goes smoothly (when was the last time they did a competent patch though..) I think ESO will survive a lot is being hinged on the champ system, although they are off to a poor start.

It's almost as if some members of this community want to see the game fail...

To protect the IP if nothing else, it should never go F2P. However there are many other reasons why it shouldn't also.

As for console launch, I really, really hope that ZOS decide to put them on the same servers as us - separate, segmented servers seems like a backwards step when we've got this megaserver technology. It worked for FFXIV, don't see why it couldn't work here.

Dear god man!!! Now i'm not one who normally moans but damb...peeps aren't even bothering to rename threads now...there are like 300 on this same subject.

@Xabien‌ Wasn't it confirmed they weren't being merged?

Then again what ZOS say and what ZOS do are two completely different things, something tells me they will go for the cheap option.

Nah, since ZOS is lazy; I am allowed to be lazy. If you do not like it, do not read my thread

No on will know until it comes to that time.

Either way, they will either say nothing (as is now) or will say it is not going to F2P (even if it is). Just sit back and enjoy the game now and worry about that if it ever happens.
