Gratuitous and stupid comment. Time for you to take a break. No game on earth is worth going berserk over ... and "throat punching"? Give me a break!

I mean, what kind of crazy person runs around punching people in the throat?
Nope, Enlightenment is gained on a tick per 'X' minutes basis whether you're online or not and not actively gaining XP on a VR character. Think of it like rested XP in other MMO's. If you want to play a sub level 50 alt for a while you gain Enlightenment the entire time (to a cap of roughly 1 CP worth, subject to change) and then when you jump on your VR character you are Enlightened. At that time you are earning CP at a 4x rate (subject to change ofc). Once any VR character has used up the Enlightenment you go back to earning CP at roughly 1 per hour while actively gaining XP on any VR.The way I understood it was that it takes about an hour to gain one champion point and THEN when you get the enlightenment buff it increases the exp rate by four times.
People need a carrot, this is it. Just give it a try before you bail. It may not be that bad.
They are doing this to help keep the gap from widening too fast, which is a fools errand due to the tenacity of some Humans to be better at a thing than others.
I have to admit my comment about it being a fool's errand is a jab at ZoS completely underestimating players. Paul Sage said before Craglorn came out that Trials would be difficult for even seasoned MMO veterans. Within a VERY short period AA was being done in ~9 minutes. That is what I'm referring to the tenacity of Humans to be superior at a thing. The Champion System might go the same way, or it might not, it all depends on how well planned it is. I'm 100% for there being a slowing mechanism to keep the gap from broadening so fast that it makes the Champ System the new running joke of ESO. I enjoy this game and look forward to many of the upcoming changes/additions, I just hope ZoS really thought it out well this time and implement a balanced and bug free mechanic to ESO that we can all enjoy.Aoife32001 wrote: »I wouldn't say it's a "fool's errand", as it will have a noticeable effect on slowing the difference between players down. This permits those humans who want to be better at important things (careers, family, etc.) to nevertheless remain relatively competitive with those who want to be better at trivial things (like MMOs), and if anything, encourages those who want to be good at both to devote more time to what actually matters.
