Any new info on console compatibility with PC megaserver?

I know when the console versions were announced the initial info from ZOS was that the Xbox and PS4 versions would have their own unique megaserver and that the PC megaserver would be completely separate. End result was that if you played on PC and a friend played on either of the consoles you would not be able to group up or interact with each other.
I took a break from TESO for a couple of months so was wondering if that is still the case or has the situation changed and the PC and console megaservers will be integrated? Reason I ask is because I play on PC and my son wants the Xbox version when it is released. I would like to be able to group with him without having to buy another Xbox.
