An increase in subs recently?

Last night my friend and I decided to make alts (AD). As we were leveling through Kenarthi's roost and eventually to Auridion the worlds were very populated, there wasn't a place we went that didn't already have a person in them.

Has anyone else noticed what seems to be larger population recently?

    Yes, same here.
Cyrodiil is so crowded, and a few weeks ago it seemed much emptier, even when looking at the population meter.

And I'm beginning to see more and more people in areas, where normally nobody is. I was asking myself as well, if ESO is getting more players at the moment.

I have been seeing a ton of new and returning players. If you look at the forums you can see who is new to the forums which I am seeing a lot of new people on here. But if you go to the reddit there are so many new and returning posts its getting as annoying as the "I Quit" threads we used to get. It's not like a huge sudden surge but it is on the up climb.

I believe it's like 67% off on steam at the moment, and many college students in the US are on their break. But yeah, it seems quite bit more busy than a month ago.

The lowered the pop caps in cyrodiil, so less people can cram into one campaign - that has spread things out a bit more in cyrodiil.

Also, since the game hit steam and has gone through periods of having a good sale here or there, you'll see an influx of new players.

(It also depends on your alliance I guess as well - I don't know if red carries the biggest number of active players or just pvpr's b/c they seem to have the most sway in a variety of campaigns in cyrodiil.)

Yes, there is certainly an increase in population lately. You can really sense this in the lower level zones where there are alot of new players asking newb questions. This is likely due to upcoming changes like the CS, Justice system, and the Undaunted dailys. Plus I have seen quite a few "just renewed my sub" threads.

You even lol at @Gigachip for saying he has returned an is bringing family with him. Guess what Anonymous loler? ESO isn't going to fail no matter how bad you want it to. Buh By! Happy trails! Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way back to WoW.

    Nope.

I have eight characters, all different classes and races and spread across the three factions, and it's RARE that I see more than one other character in a delve or other key quest area.

Wishful thinking doesn't change reality. Posts by marketing reps and shils do not change what we really see. I'd certainly like to see an increased population, but the bad reputation (well earned) from the premature release will haunt this game for some time. Stupid design decisions since then haven't helped.

Fanbois, shils, and phony posters hurt a game much more than critiques. When the marketplace quits trusting the forums, the market disappears.

Wow. So much hate and flat out lies in this post. Just go to any lvl 1-50 zone and look around. Those aren't NPCs you see everywhere. Despite how much you clearly wish they were. The VR zones are empty because they are unpopular. It's always been that way. Hense the CS

Don't be ridiculous. There is a difference between diversity of thoughts, feedback, discussion, debate, - and flat out hatred. There are people on this forum (every forum for that matter) that just hate life and hate everything they want to talk about. There are people here that have nothing good to say - ever. There are people here that will call you a fanboi the instant you have anything positive to say. There is even someone that clearly dislikes me and is following me to every post I make lately just to troll me by tagging me with a lol. It doesn't matter, I actually feel sorry for this person because they clearly do not have a life.

I've been on this forum and many other forums for 20+ years. I can smell a troll or a hater when I see one. I love a good, well structured debate. I respect everyone's opinion as long as it is constructive. This forum is actually quite civilized compared to most.

I have been seeing quite a few new names and non VR14 players on Thornblade NA lately. No way to tell if they are new subs I suppose, but judging from their playstyle they are somewhat new to ESO pvp. It's nice seeing fresh faces, though it feels a little dirty ganking some VR2

It's not about praising ESO or ZoS, I was just stating that I've been noticing that the 1-50 zones seem to have a larger population then they used to. The reason why people are positive and posting optimistic posts is because they are the ones who care for the game, and they want to see it succeed, and that plays heavily on subs.

If you are against more subs, and general optimism for a game that has been shunned out of the light for no reason then maybe you shouldn't be playing, especially if you don't want to see the game succeed and want everyone else to be a pessimist and have only bad thoughts about the game like you.

I haven't been playing all that long - only a V4 right now - and I've only really played the DC, but when I go back to Daggerfall from time to time I'm amazed at how busy it is compared to when I was starting out.
    -
This is a completely unscientific assessment, but it SEEMS to be more popular now than it was just a few months back.

I'm able to get help for bosses/dolmens in the Cadwell's Silver campaign with polite requests via chat, no problem, and I do see plenty of other players running around these zones.

Haven't really been to Craglorn etc. so no comment on that.

Your sister should check out Istaria then as that's got an awesome crafting system and is about 70% of the game. Oh and have I mentioned in the past its the ONLY game where you can play as a Dragon and fly?

Seriously thou she sounds like me where crafting/gathering is very important to last'ability of the game....ESO fails on both counts and the new Writs are just pointless. No they know very little about crafting in an MMO at Zeni.

I disagree. That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but I find ESO's crafting system well above average. And I'm not sure why you hate it so much. This is the only MMO i've ever played that rewards crafters with the ability to craft gear that is just as good as top end game drops. The gathering system is also just fine. Not everyone wants to fly around as a dragon.

If you haven't been part of a 24/7 supply chain to a plot where your guild hall is being built for at least two days /played, you do not know anything about rewarding and sophisticated crafting systems.

    maybe you shouldn't be playing,

Thank you for proving my point. I didn't bad-mouth the game, or insist on it's eventual decline and failure. All I did was say you shouldn't be so against diversity of thought and opinion.

And that led you to suggest maybe I should quit. LMAO

    Thanks for proving my point.

When a post like mine (with no negative comments about the game) causes you to suggest I quit, your need to conversely rethink your dedication to the game.

You come across as defensive and the worst kind of fanboy. Nobody is going to take anything you say seriously.

With the champ system just round the corner and many people thinking they are over the xp cap, it's a good time to get any remaining class's to 50, so there are probably a lot more players in low level zones due to this. There are probably a lot of returning players too.

You are the one in this thread that is crying that people are optimistic about the game, and that they have good thoughts. I'm sorry not everyone is depressing like you and only see's the bad out of the good.

If you come into a forum that is talking about good things about ESO and you start saying bad things about the game and being completely negative about it, you should expect a retaliation from people, and you should expect them to tell you to stop playing. Which I completely agree with, If you want to come on the forums and complain and cry about how so many things are wrong with the game then do it in the hundreds of other threads already talking about that.

Don't try to make it seem like you are the victim because you are marking yourself to be flamed, Go get your diaper changed please, no one here wants to see you commenting here if you are just going to be negative.

I've been in game long enough to get a high hrothgar loyalty pet (not taken delivery of it yet), but intermittant enough that my characters range from 4-26. The banks generally seem full most times of day, slowest is maybe 6-9am or so.

A month or so ago it seemed to slow down a but, but recently I've noted more characters about of two types; way fancy armor and folks wearing prisoner garb (or nothing - and really, keep your prisoner pants on, we don't need to see you parade your stuff).

Same with crafting stations; they tend to be fairly crowded most times of day.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
