wouldn't it be nice if zenimax would have an own skill calculator on the site? one that is accurate with the latest updates?

Yes, but it's never going to happen. If you haven't noticed, Zenimax has absolutely zero information about any aspect of this game anywhere. They've left it up to players and 3rd party sites.

That's why forums such as mine, ESO Trade, exist because Zenimax won't even implement something as basic as a trade section on this (their official) forum.

I've asked them several times, not only on this forum but also in-game, exactly how many skill points there are. Zero response. The funny thing is, it's probably because they don't know.

Hell, I remember topics about skills (because I created a few of them), like which skill use weapon power and weapon crit and which one spell power and spell crit. Well, players checked the most skill and discovered the laws of the game by themself . It was very important for theorycrafters to know. Even now, I'm not sure about few skill. But ZOS answered on this questions? No! ZOS provide any information about it? No. So, I would say that ZOS don't know the answer. Or maybe they know, but if ZOS will tell us then we'll see that it works wrong. Anyway, I don't think that ZOS will provide any information about it in nearest future.

It's all about the immersion. You don't imagine a hero in Tamriel gets tips from some obscure voice from above, right?
Looks like Gina and Company have become godly and behave as such. With absolutely no desire to help.

    its coming folks, its coming.

    www.oghmainfinium.com

Just two guys working on it and I am also running dungeons and creating dungeon guides so its a slow labor of love, but its coming I promise.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

What happened to players doing some research by themselves? It's not down to the developers to give all the data to min/max your toons. Heck the game is easy enough already!

@yodased good luck with your project :)

And where would one go to find a definite and correct information? There are quite a few sites with skill calcs and to a new player they seem to be perfect. Yet, they are anything but that.
Would you like to have such experience as a new player? To not be certain of anything you find on net, as there is nothing official?

Personally I don't mind it. Trial and error my friend ;)

I agree, but is it really necessary? How about if chat stopped working, or trade? Would you still feel trial and error are our best solution?

Not really a good example. Chat and trade aren't what make you competitive. If all info was available to everyone, where would be the fun of finding a build that works? What would you have left to share with your guildies? Just a point of view.

Sure if I could have the info given to me on a silver plate, my build would be perfect but I would take no proud for it because every other player will have worked out exactly the same optimal builld

I am not talking about a perfect build. Not everyone needs to be the best, you know. I am talking about the option to even know what certain skill's upgrade is, before you use it, for instance.

I just want to know what skills I can use when I am a templar or a nightblade or ... and I want to see their morphs. and I want to see how much dmg they do on my lvl, not more, not less

Erm yeah, that I can't deny. It's pain not to be sure what a morph is before unlocking a skill. Sure the actual skill calculators can give you a clue but they're not up to date, I know unfortunately
