✭Umm they wore armored gloves/Gauntlets when wielding swords like this..
Really simple stuff here...
Plus the European swords were not really super duper sharp, now try that with a real Japanese Katana and you would cut yourself..

well a katana is seriously not made the same way or for the same purpose as the types of sword in question, its a cutting blade, not a thrusting one. European swords and eventually the rapier were more thrusting weapons to deal with armor advancements, rapiers in particular are almost completely dull because the point is to thrust and kill.
if you actually watch some of Skallagrim's videos he actually talks about the katana and how SILLY its fan base is. thinking its the end all be all sword of all freakin time. not true, its a good sword, made for a specific purpose, as most swords are. there is no best at everything, all swords have pros and cons.Edited by Wing on December 17, 2014 3:00AMESO player since beta.
