Mini games in ESO

ESO needs some mini games, and I have two specific ideas.

I would like to see a Tamriel version of chess in ESO, that you can play against other players or NPC'S, placed all over Tamriel, outside and inside.

A bar fight mini game would be great in ESO.
Not at main taverns, and fist fights only.
Could be a way to implement a hand to hand skill tree.

Money should have to be put in by the players for both mini games, and new quests could be added, requiring you to compete in them.

I was thinking only 1 vs 1 at a time, in chess obviously,
but in taverns mainly so it's not always chaos at the taverns bar fights are held.

Although, a large scale tavern brawl for all to participate in, sounds fun, an old wild west tavern brawl comes to mind.

Thoughts, suggestions or ideas?

Checkers would be better than chess, fewer rules and easier play when a little tipsy. Either OOC or ICLy. But that said I am sure the devs could come up with a Chinese checkers version for three players to mirror AD, EP, DC. That wouldbe cool

We already have the "manage your inventory" mini game, with the "manage your guild bank" as a sort of multiplayer version. That's neverending OCD fun.

OK, I actually agree. More voluntary in-game and in-lore pastimes would be nice. We only have fishing at the moment, and that does not appeal to everyone.

Fishing is a nice addition, but it needs a lot of work before I can call it a mini game.

I would like it if there were mini games that could award us resources. These wouldn't take the place of the gathering mechanics we currently have but would offer another way to gather resources with a greater reward, depending on how well you perform in the mini game.

Other games like archery challenges, frog races, pet training & fighting, and a robust "fish anywhere" mini game would also be appreciated.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many things to do in a game like this. I would also add a dueling arena to the mini game list (no open world dueling) where players can queue up to take on a challenger with some matchmaking so that the fight is about resource management and skill not who has the largest attribute bar.

Additionally, I would also like to see a Guild house space that was instanced and only available to members of the guild where you can have these types of games. Sometimes people just want to hang out and jabber while doing something low key, having a place for guilds to let of some steam while waiting for a dungeon group or whatever sounds like it would put some life back into the cities.
"It is a time of strife and unrest. Armies of revenants and dark spirits manifest in every corner of Tamriel. Winters grow colder and crops fail. Mystics are plagued by nightmares and portents of doom."

Personally I play the "Can you open your Guild Bank?" mini game every day. Will the guild bank load on try 1, 2, 3, or 4? Round and round it goes when it opens nobody knows! I kinda think of it like Guild Bank Roulette.

Honestly, the thing that always kills me in this game is where is the food?

I find 8000 year old beef in an urn in a nordic ruin that hasn't been opened in 6500 years, yet I can't go hunting. I could hunt in other ES games.

Add hunting and fishing as true means of sustenance, not just "hmmm there's a bucket, wow look at that, a WHOLE TENDERLOIN."

It would be cool to have hunting and fishing as integral for cooking.

I often wonder about all the fresh 1000+ year old food I find in never opened before opened before today crypts/caves/ruins...then I toss it in the pot and feed it to my guild.

I agree getting meats off animals would be good...I can kill 100 mudcrabs and get hides, weapons, armor ect but never meat unless a quests tells you to kill them for meat. I've come to the conclusion animals in ESO are kinda like the TARDIS, bigger on the inside to store the loot with their meat stored in various linked containers...every time you loot meat from a container some poor critter feels its flesh being ripped out.

Frog & lizard races are already in the game so it shouldn't be too hard to implement after the mission is completed. Now that I think about it, I don't remember EP having a race. Do they? It's been too long since I've done an EP quest.

I'd like to see cards & dominoes. ;)

Oh! And Bosmer tossing! A MUST! :D

I was thinking today about how much fun it would be to just sit around in a town and challenge random players to some kind of mini game, maybe make a few bets with gold or treasure.
I think it would be cool to have mini game sets such as an altered version of "Chess", "Checkers", maybe some kind of card game, but I think as an additional feature to it, we should be able to find recipes for the different mini game sets and can craft them in Blacksmithing and Woodworking using the same materials we use for crafting other things. Any person could make an average chess set out of Iron or craft paper to make cards from Maple, but the really awesome sets are made from Voidsteel or Nightwood.
Plus the achievements that we could earn for winning X number of minigame matches, it would definitely be a fun and flashy set of achievements.

I really would like Minigames, I could definitely waste tons of in game time just playing those with random strangers. lol
