Why can't we do this with our horses?

I really do wish our horses wouldn't just disappear when we step off of them. It would be a lot nicer if they'd just remain nearby unless we stable them. I know, I know, resources. :( Doesn't mean it wouldn't be cool to be able to pet our faithful steeds and maybe feed them an apple with an emote!

Only if they are invincible or otherwise completely ignored by enemies/critters. Otherwise having them stay when you dismount is kind of pointless. They'll disappear anyway once the enemies start attacking them.

FFXIV allows PC and PS4 & PS3 players to play together... Just because one MMO does it doesn't mean another can/should.

But I 100% agree with your suggestion. I would love to have my horse follow me as I walk on foot! I really think the whole mount system needs an overhaul with Mount AI, mounted combat, 2 person riding, armor, tabards, banners, etc.

Since horses are incredibly expensive, yeah I have to agree. For that amount of gold I'd like to actually SEE what I paid for a bit more! LOL

It would be nice if horse won't just freeze and disappear in the air. At least this would add some immersion.

Right? Wouldn't it e cool if, instead of going to the stable, you could just click on the horse and get the feeding options? And then, whatever food you chose, you got a corresponding animation? For the apples you could actually feed it an apple out of your hand, or give it a bucket of oats..dang I can't remember the Stam food! LOL But you get the idea. You'd still need the stable to stable your mount in the case where you have multiple horses and it'd be cool if stabling your horse gave them a small temporary buff the first time you summoned them after stabling them.

THIS. this would be great. I would still argue that we should have to buy the horse feed from the stable @ 250G a pop but it would be nice to have some horse feed with me while adventuring. I don't always visit a city each day I play so this would be mighty helpful.

Oh I didn't mean to say we wouldn't have to pay for the feed! I'd expect the gold to be "magickly" deducted from us any time we feed our horse. LOL But maybe we could buy several foods at a time at the stable and then (still having to keep the current feeding schedule) when we use them up feeding our horses wherever we happen to be, we have to return to the stable to buy more. This would also help maintain the usefulness of the stable.

    [snip]

I'd love to have my horse stay nearby when I unmount to pick a flower. I don't think this should go as far as having horses waiting at the entrance of a dungeon or a bank but it should be able to stand on its own.

Horses arent hydrophobic. I used to take my horse Keno swimming every day.Plus when a horse hurts it's leg, they put it into Hydrotherapy. (I know these things because I have owned quite a few horses and broke many as well.)
    Ps,
I named my horse Keno because it was a gamble getting up on his back.Sometimes I stuck there, and sometimes I didnt. XD

A worthy necro, great idea. I really enjoyed leveling up my mount in FFXIV. It was a companion, not just a faster ride. you could even pick skills to put points in (limited skillset, but it was still cool). I could make my mount have a few nice heals, or a single target attack, or an AoE...

It was a fun side game.

LOL Yeah this is a bit of a necro isn't it? Funny, I was just thinking of it the other day too! Especially now with there being so many different kinds of mounts and mounts being a really expensive crown store item! Seriously, if I'm going to spend 20 bucks on some pixels it REALLY ought to have some increased functionality. Remaining until dismissed when unmounted at the very least. Some emotes ad interactions would be great as well as some cool unlocks once you've trained your riding skill to max in each of the three areas.

You're charging us out the nose for mounts ZOS so it's time to step up your game with them. Really.
