Vampires everywhere - so unrealistic

It seems that every second player I see is a Vampire. On the face of it I have no problem with this...

- I have no problem with Vampire players being in the game
- I have no problem with people wanting to play a Vampire character
- I have no problem with how easy it is to become one
- I have no problem with the numbers

What I have a problem with is that I know they are vampires.

The only other Elder Scrolls game I have played is Skyrim, so that is all I have to go off, but in that both Werewolves and Vampires seems to be handled well. IE if NPCs, guards etc realised you were one they attacked. Pure and simple.

Having pasty faced players just running around without anything seeming wrong is just stupid. If a player is blatantly a Vampire IE in the later stages, they should not be able to go anywhere near a town of city without getting attacked and driven off (or dying if you stay).

Or, player Vampires need to have an ability to charm people so they do not see them as Vampires (unless that wish it). Hell even make it automatic when they enter a city. Just don't have blatant Vampires wondering around.

Well, the only reason you know they are vampires is because you know that is only how vampires can look ingame. If you were living in Tamriel, you would see them as an ordinary (Or insanely) sick people, who is in dire need of healer to take care of their disease.

If you didn't know that only vampires could look that way, and sickness was realisticly portrayed in ESO, you would simply believe they are sick.

Being a stage 4 vampire will be a crime once the Justice System rolls out, so you won't be seeing as many of those inside towns and cities.

As for hiding their appearance, there -should- be a passive that works to hide it through some sort of illusion magic, because that's actually viable. In addition, there's one vampire bloodline in Valenwood that can only be distinguished when looked at in candlelight, so hiding appearances is possible, lore-wise.

I noticed a few weeks ago that you can't go to the bank without seeing a Vampire...

Next patch vampires can't enter towns at stage 4 without getting attacked by guards so I guess your wish will come true.

I agree.

I'm completely on board with Stage 4 (hell even 3 would be ok with me) being attack on sight in towns. I just wish they made Stage 1 look closer to your original appearance. Had I known it'd be that dramatic of an effect, I'd have made my toon a bit more tan.

As a vamp myself, I'd be happy for the guards to attack me in stage 4, provided that the timings of the stages were revamped before justice system goes live. I'm forever in stage 4 since its not feasible to feed every 30 mins(or whatever the time frame is). Or as you say,give me the ability to charm or hide my appearance as npc vamps can do. We are creatures of the night after all, so we should be able to charm and lead unsuspecting innocents into temptation!

It's just so you know OOC. You wouldn't want a mage to use detect dead and see nothing, right? That's why I put the word "Lich" in front of my character's name. Their characters won't know, obviously, because no guards are attacking, but the forces behind them will act accordingly.

Yea last time i checked vampires were fictional.... Unless you belive they exist in real life.... And then your argument should be vampires identies need to be less obvious because if they really existed there would be crap loads, they just wouldnt advertise it...

I will say, however, that if vampires were real, I was a vampire and my goal was to defeat Molag Bal with my vampire brethren then I would probably turn everyone I could get my hands on. But that's just me.
