I think that ESO's Updates need to have a little more "recognizibility". Right now they're named very generically e.g Update 39, Update 23 etc. I think that the updates should have proper names. Let's peer into the year 2017 where two players are conversing about the upcoming update...
"Player 1: Wow, I sure can't wait for Update 34!"
"Player 2: What in Oblivion is that?"
"Player 1: I don't even know what it even is either but hey, it's an update!"
Sounds a little awkward, doesn't it?
Here are some names I've come up with for released and upcoming updates:
- UPDATE 1: The Celestial Army
- UPDATE 2: The Return of Nerien'eth
- UPDATE 3: Guild Extravaganza (This is the only named update so far, and even then it still isn't official.)
- UPDATE 4: Assault on the Scaled Court
- UPDATE 5: Challenge of the Undaunted
- UPDATE 6: Champions of Justice
Loads of other MMOs have names for their updates, notably WoW and WildStar. It also helps them create promotional videos since the updates have better names. So why not ESO? It could use some more advertising, especially in 2015 where we'll start to see the game come out of a sort of "early access" state.
