Crafting missions have an issue...

The missions for the crafting should be based on the zone you are in, not based upon your skill level. Same for your hirelings - they should bring you mats you can use rather than what your skill in that craft is. I do want to say thank you to my hirelings who stocked me up with all that nightwood & voidstone ore while I was VR5. I had PLENTY of stock when I hit VR9!

Speaking of which, I couldn't make a thing when I was VR8 because I was a level or two higher than the PvE zone I was in and all the mats I could get was one level above me (from my hirelings) or one level below me (from the PvE zone).

The hireling mats should be player level based, not skill level.

    Eeerrr... No.
If you didn't want to get the max level mats until you hit that level, then you could have not spent the skill point until you were at a level that could use the mats.

If someone has a crafting alt that is low level, but they craft for others, it's pretty useful to have a steady supply of mats.

I don't think there is a perfect solution, but I don't think what you are proposing is better than the current system.

Yep, your Hirelings bring you that which matches the Material Level you have chosen. Same with Writs.

As for the items you find in Zones, if you go to the zone for the level you are, or the level you want to craft for, then you can farm the mats that you need.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
