Do people who chose battlemage's corner builds even work in this game??

Ok this is a little rant about broken mechanics, but as it shows better when looking at Battlemage's Corner templates. I'm going to the last two examples of builds that were published on the main website as (i think) a way to help players who have harder times chosing builds (I know I do for my NB, but don't feel the same way for my sorc). Thing is that most of those builds are based on broken mechanics, and ZOS staff should know better than to publish them.

BASTION OF NIGHT - NB Tank, the distinctive feature is the use Hist Bark armor and Blur (Double Take) >> broken mechanic... there is an active thread at the Combat and Skill lines forum where dev's have been saying they are looking into it and that "dodge indeed stacks", BUT all player measurments indicate that they DO NOT.

FALLEN SHIELD OF MERIDIA - Templar Tank/healer with Sword and Board and Resto staff (apparently only used for emergencies)... so we are supposed to play a game where a single player does both healing and tanking jobs while wearing nothing but light armor. Might as well give him some heavy dps and have him finish DSA solo. I know they are addressing this as of next Update 6 with some heavy changes to armor ratings for different armors but publishing on Battlemasters Corner was adding insult to injury.

Just my little rant (my first one since beta). I usually cut some slack about issues and wait for them to fix it, although stuff like the impenetrable trait giving crit chance reduction and not crit damage reduction and the fact that I've seen no comment by devs on this kinda puts me off. Anyhow, devs, if you read this, do not advertise stuff that is a cause of major concerns on the target population as something amazing...

Hist bark is a self buff to dodge chance, while blur is an enemy debuff to miss chance. These are two different things and they do stack. However you won't notice it on bosses as bosses are immune to the miss debuff.

Even while wearing 7 heavy or 5 heavy/2 light using a resto staff on the off bar is a common for tanks in certain situations. Even with the changes coming in 1.6, good tanks are still going to carry around a resto staff.

I'd rather have two bars with sword+shield and destro/resto ready to be added in between fights with wykkyd's macros.

As @thomas.k.grayb14_ESO already said, miss chance and dodge chance are two different things. They do stack. I use something somewhat similar to THE BASTION OF NIGHT when I tank on my nightblade (I disagree with certain choices of his, but whatever). It is quite effective. And the build off-heals the team as well. But I guess you don't like that.

And seriously, whats wrong with a healing offbar? Its not necessary (as @Gyudan would probably say ;) ), but it can be useful at times. But it is also no replacement for a dedicated healer.

Methinks you need to spend more time learning about what different effects do...

This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!

Notice that I did say certain situations. It's not something I always have equipped either, but its still something that I keep in my tool-bag.

It is my impression the whole purpose of the Battlemaster's corner is not to necessarily promote one specific build each month, but to spark ideas and maintain interest and excitement in character development. And though many current mechanics will change in the near future, they are "current". Lots of stuff has already changed since launch, such as medium armor and 2 Handers for example.

I do enjoy reading those monthly articles. I have made a hybrid version of that Steel Tornado Sorc build, it has been a ton of fun. However, nearly each time I read one of these articles, I find I need more character slots as they do inspire me to create new builds. I'm not blowing my gold on re-setting skills and morphs every month... But Sage already shot that down, and i am now creating other characters on the other server because of that.

I know it's not the main point of the thread, but having Impenetrable reduce Crit Chance rather than Crit Damage is a pretty big-f'ing-deal.
