I keep reading this across the forum: "ESO has so much potential". Yet we are now 8 months after release. How do you feel about this statement? What do you think will happen to ESO in the months/years to come?

ESO is already a great game and will become even greater.

Potential as the Devs really care and are in touch with the community. Sadly, do the same carebears ruin everything all the time as they only think about themselves.

The justice System is a good example for it, we can not even defend ourselves versus guards, just because a few people are afraid of the dead in towns.

Or the old VR system, we had the opportunity to explore the game versus hard encounters once again, encounters that were nerfed as some felt it was too hard...

ESO had so many brilliant features planned during beta but the constant whine ruined them.

Besides that ZO supplied too much raid content, while no pvp or solo pve.

The missed opportunities are huge, yet the Devs are very capable. Its just that they need to start ignoring the whiners and go for their own idea of how ESO should be. To not be able to defend yourself in the justice system makes the system pointless and once again we know whom to thank for this :(

It's nice to see that most players are still happy and hopeful about the game. :)

Ever since I saw the first gameplay footage I knew the game is going to rock.
I haven't been disappointed in beta nor am I now. I've been seeing the game improve all the time, ZOS devs are one of the best in the gaming industry I've ever witnessed.

I see ESO flourishing with years to come. I think most of the haters that are left now, are just from other MMOs. They must be feeling really terrified, cause ever since the launch ESO took a big step up, and doesn't look like it's gonna stop with years to come. I can already say we are looking at the bright future.

From a purely PvP standpoint, the game needs lots of work. Don't know much about PvE

ESO is the only MMO in years that has kept me entertained for more than 3 months. I had hopes of Archeage potentially filling that slot, but after playing that for about a month my expectations were crushed.

I recently also tried EVE Online and LOTRO again recently and whatever magic i gleaned from those games had dissipated.

I can foresee me playing ESO for quite some time.

"Potential" is one of those buzzwords marketers use to explain why a product has not met expectations, especially after a product has been strongly hyped.

"Potential" is not what I pay a subscription for; I pay a subscription for a finished product.

"Potential" is what a beta release of a game has, not a finished product.

    'Nuff said.

I buy the game for the product, which includes bug fixes but not future enhancements. I buy subscriptions according to the potential for future enhancement.
