Connection can't be better than around 120ms ping. If you're lucky, since that's what I get on average playing EU-EU (should be around 25ms in any other game).

Have you considered the time difference? If you want to take part in guild activities, you'll likely be asleep during their primetime, unless you work shifts.

I don't know about EU guilds, but I can't imagine there are many of those.

We have a few folks from EU in our guild. The time difference is the biggest downside, I think. We are usually on in EST evenings during the week and our activities go well into the wee hours if you are in the EU time zones.

Other than that, they don't complain about connection issues any more than we do.

I have played and been guilded with several EU and Oceanic players on NA server. The time difference can be severe depending upon the guild your in, but you can easily find a group of players with a similar schedule. I know some NA players think prime time is the only time, but us Americans people have a tendency to think they're right all the time.

Would like to point out that if you're bored starting over from scratch may actually intensify that boredom. Personally I love alts and have 3 vet characters but that said since the game is 99.75% the same each and every time you play through no matter what faction you choose it doesn't do well to alleviate boredom.

to be continued... Nevermind, no longer "to be continued"

I also ditched my 8 EU chars for a fresh start on NA.

The ping is approx 160-220. You hardly notice any real difference.

The only slightly annoying thing about the NA servers is that you have to download the entire client again for that region. I tried numerous ways of copying over data from EU to NA with no success and many errors.

If you need a good cause to donate your EU gold to, think about me
I'll make sure it ends up well spent
