Why is there a restriction so that I can not email from one of my characters to the other?
Instead I have to keep doing multiple log outs and ins to transfer stuff from my character to the bank and then the bank to my other character.

This is time consuming and I really don't see the harm in sending mail to my characters. :|

Also because the mail system between characters (note that hirelings are the exception to this rule) is account-wide. So regardless of whether you send mail to a specific character, it can be opened by any character on that player's account. You can't send mail from one of your characters to another one of your characters because the mail system would see it as sending it from yourself to yourself.

I would think it would be just as easy to use your bank to transfer items from one character to another than it would be to send it to yourself in the mail.

ZOS most likely made it this way so that people were not circumventing the whole banking system and using their mail to store things rather than the bank.

I always leave at least 10 spaces open in my bank dedicated to sending items back and forth between my main (my Crafter) and my alts. My alts harvest nodes and send the raw materials to my crafter. My crafter makes the ores and saves up the improvement matts. She then makes items from the ores that are not needed and sells them to vendors because you get more money that way if you do it right. The money she makes from doing that goes to future bank upgrades.

It's a nice little system. My alts also send over found armour with traits my Main needs to learn as well.

I know it may suck, but the bank is the better one to use, because if you don't pick up your mail within a few days, it gets deleted on you and doesn't always get returned.
Far too many characters to list any more.

This. And why it is more time consuming I haven't seen a gold seller in a long long time. Which is probably the biggest thing ESO and ZOS did right. Banned all those guys.

it's time consuming for me when I have a full bank and have to take items out then put items in relog to other character take items out and so forth. I'm working within the confines of the rules set up but I still feel I should be able to email from character to character. But that's just me hehehe.

If you have a friend who you trust send them some RTS mail so they send it back to you. Then log onto the alt and open them.

But again, I don't see the issue.

If you were sending mail, you'd still have to be logging in and out between characters.

His problem is that banks have a limited number of spaces. Mail does not. He can therefore RTS his mail and hop onto an alt. A lot of people do it.

Like I said I'm working within the confines of the game rules just saying mail would be easier. This reminds me of Asheron's Call where I had mule characters and then would drop my stuff on the ground (praying no one would come along and take it) and then log in the character I wanted and pick the stuff up hehe.

I don't think that hirelings are any different. The mail only triggers once you log into that specific character and refresh the timer. Once they've been received, it's still possible to open the hireling mails of character #1 with character #2 and access their content.

Mail exploits really shouldn't be the "fix" for the poor design decisions of bags.

As for mailing mail to yourself, I think it would be exploited too much. The bank system is a fair system.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.
