Alright, this posting is after attempt number 3 on this boss.

This boss needs a tune down. I know some people are going to shout "challenge is good" and "scale it down" and what not, but I honestly don't care about that useless banter.

The fact is, one of the mechanics is either broken, or needs tuning down. Here is the problem, Big Rabbu, the Widow-Maker, and the Whisperer spawn at the exact same time, and the big boss activates while they are still alive. So, my group has essentially had to deal with 4 bosses at one time, and the amount of damage and abilities going out from the bosses is just over the top. I don't want to imagine ZOS designed it this way, because its a dungeon, not a trial.

    Also, the spiders on the first phase deal WAY to much damage, I am talking 1 shot the moment the spawn, regardless of damage mitigation. We are all v14 by the way, and for the love of talos, don't even bother spitting out the "scale it down" line.

    This boss is quite hard indeed. Having a sorcerer in your team really helps for stunning the large groups.

    The "waves" may not be 100% accurate, but here goes:

    Wave 1 - Spiders: Negate and AOE quickly
    Wave 2 - a few spiders and Daedric Spider: AOE quickly to kill the small spiders, then everyone has to focuse the big one. It's vulnerable to CC, so even the tank should do damage. 2-handed Dizzying Swing or Power Bash keep her on the ground while the team kills her
    Wave 3 - Lots of adds and another daedric spider: Negate the group, focus on the healers and AOE everything quickly
    Wave 4 - More adds and minibosses: Negate and AOE the adds, kill the bosses one by one

    When Praxin joins in you should only have 2 minibosses left. Get rid of them as soon as possible and focus back on the Praxin when they're down.
    When you get the red circle around you, try to go into a corner of the room, to stay as far away from your team as possible. Move with it and don't roll dodge by accident. If anyone crosses it, that's an insta-death.
    Avoid the 3 line attacks, they're not too hard to dodge.

    The spider do deal a lot of damage, but if your party knows what they're doing you can easily clear them out without suffering any deaths. AoEs, CCs, mitigation (it does work), positioning, etc.

    The idea of Praxin is that it's a DPS race. Waves are spawned on a timer so you need to clear out the previous wave ASAP if you don't want to be swamped. That said, I do feel there are too many punishing mechanics in play; in particular the DoT/magicka drain from Praxin himself. With Circle of Death, multiple minibosses and high-damage ground waves, I think Praxin has enough mechanics. The magicka curse is just mean.

    Again, Whisperer, Big Rabbu, and Widow-Maker at the EXACT same time, no time at all in between them, and we are not going that slow at all.

    Sadly, with the rate of ZOS CS (funny how there seem to be only like 3-4 CS agents and they don't work on weekends, so no CS on weekends), I doubt this thread is even going to get seen, or this issue brought up. I am also doubting they even play their game or care about it or their play base anymore.

    I think ZOS laid off all their customer support, save for like 3 or 4 back when they did the massive lay offs, and they don't care anymore so they refuse to get more.

    one group i did it with said that the 3 named bosses arent supposed to spawn with the healers/evokers group and are in fact two separate waves. ive seen them spawn separately once (it was incredibly easy when this happens). dont know if theres any truth to that.

    They should indeed be separate spawns. Before the spawn timers got utterly borked, there used to be 4 separate spawn waves: Small spiders, then big spider with small ones, after that Big Rabbu, the Widowmaker, 2 healers and some other humanoid mobs, and in the 4th one the Whisperer Nightmare with one evoker and one healer.

    This is utterly broken though; in our numerous tries to beat this fight, we even had the second wave (big spider) omitted alltogether several times.

    I usually play in a set group with 3 friends and we are able to beat every other vet dungeon and DSA just fine, but we never managed this fight. None of those friends is a Sorc (we are a DK tank, templar healer (me), a DK dps and one NB dps) and I simply refuse exchaning one of my friends for a Sorc dps just to beat this dungeon.
    We managed to get to where Praxin joins the fight, but at that point, Big Rabbu and the Widowmaker are still up. Praxin's mana drain then severerly cripples our ability to damage those two as well as any healing, and with insufficient healing, we eventually just die.

    This fight is way over the top, and bugged, and since so many people report the same or similar issues, I very much doubt it is a matter of learn to play. It's not "l2p" anymore if 50-70% of the playerbase are not able to beat a fight which is NOT supposed to be the hardest one in the game.

    Just did it this saturday. For sure it is not a piece of cake. But it is doable even with average dps .
    I mean my group(pug )made it.
    The gargoyle has been down 5sec after the end of timer ( so 150k( health )/120(timer)/2(dd)= 625dps...minus my dps( tank 300) it end to 475 dps per dd so nothing great).
    It take us several (4-5) try with adjustment each time.
    First wave as usual when you need control : volcanic rune works great.If magika build caltrop can be a good use of that stamina too .
    Second no problem
    3rd and 4rd aren t the same
    We do a lot better as soon as I try using the grip to aoe ulti everything but the 3 big one...yes 3 a big spider was still there and I had to tank 3 big mob + boss.Was a pain (used tri pots)but as soon as the spider died (hopefully it was not too long) it became manageable. I tank them far away from the boss to have a lot of time to avoid the boss"3flame attack "
    So after that it is Just about not getting
    killed by the pink circle.

    But I agree that the add may have a bit too much health...or the timer is a bit short.
