On the character deletion limit

I don't suppose there's an "I'm not a gold farmer" certification we can obtain to get rid of this deletion limit. It's just so annoying when I change my mind about or forget a minor detail of my character and essentially can't play for the next 24 hours. Maybe let us pay 300 gold to restore a delete (approx. the amount of gold you get going through coldharbour).

How many deletes is the limit and is this in total or per day?

You can store up to 3 deletions maximum, and you regain one every 24 hours. I'm also fairly certain that the 24 hour countdown restarts if you use another deletion.

I'm tired of this topic cropping up from time to time but will try to make constructive suggestions. Have you tried perfecting your character on the PTS first and writing down the settings before creating the "real" one? Or playing any of your other 7 character slots during the cool down?

I am against removal the character deletion limit even for a cost. I still remember the botters and do not wish to return to those days.

The limit seems more then generous. I agree that I don't want bots runningnaround in the game. I think the limit should remain in place. It wasn't difficult to create a character the way I wanted.

However maybe in game barber or something to allow traits of the same character to be tweaked. This would solve the ops problem without openingbthe game up to bots.

It comes up because it is NOT a problem for a minority.
Im tired of people like coming and feeling the need to tell people how your tired of seeing it just because it doesn't effect you... or telling someone how to play, or suggest out of the way solutions just to fix something the devs should have fine tuned a bit more. Because the FIX (which was needed) caused a bottleneck. So there go solutions for those that PAY to play should have more convenience without feeling penalized by it which is meant for bots. Not people paying to NOT play.

There are other ways to lessen the inconvenience without removing the solution you know... A multitude of options actually.
We should be striving to give feedback in a positive manner and to help come up with solutions. This game CAN pull a FFXIV with their current pace. But at the same time while trying to keep players that are in or coming back we should not be telling new players how to play or scaring them off.
Solutions across the board would help the impact not be as harsh to those who do face this wall.
Every time I see negative (imo) reply to this its about 1 thing when there is actually 10+ or they focus on one cosmetic flaw telling people to get over it when there are MANY reasons: voice, heights, color can all impact play.
+ Not liking a class, faction, racials, misplaced SP, or like myself once picking tan getting orange/green skin. Its very easy to hit the cap actually.
Whats the most offered opinion when a mistake is made early in an MMO?
    "Reroll..."

If you happen to have canceled at the skip tut because you forgot something; then hit continue again after coming back it skips the window all together and tossed you right into the tut; wasted cd right there.
I myself have even run into using all 3 at once... I hit continue and it sent me right to tut without asking to skip. Then I remade but forgot the height.
Then I had the one where I got to the skip but then canceled because I forgot the hair. (If you hit continue again it will skip the prompt and toss you right into tutorial.) At last min because of the frustration of being already on my 3rd try; I forgot height again but didn't get the skip prompt and tossed in game.
All cosmetic based issues with player error. Which happened because of the continue/prompt bug though. (Player error should not be punishing a player in a cosmetic choice...)
All only because the negative side of the lock out. So we need more solutions.
A character appearance save slot for one would have stopped me from starting completely over each time.
I also one time got the bug where the CD never reset...
During which I could not play the new class I was planning to. Actually I couldn't play at all; not what I wanted and when I wanted.

Most people would probably say forget it and assume maybe they will have a payed recustomization later. Then again all they have hinted at is a player based profession which sounds like it would not help with height, skin, color, voice, etc issues. Only hair, etc. So people reroll...
Not to mention those reasons outside cosmetics.

I personally think hey, something SHOULD be done. And not assume someone is threatening you relive Botpocalypse again. (Im just saying it because people seemed threatened in EVERY post about this.) When all they have to do is acknowledge additions need to be made to help these people; not that people are trying to remove cap all together.

Again things like a character customization save (A standard these days..) for example could go a long way...

But hey at least you ARE constructive. My rant is at those that just run in saying no like there is not more to it. AKA people who are not effected by it telling people who are tuff luck; acting like they are a minority when people who dabble in creators is far from a minority. Again another irony there... Its not always those that dabble in cosmetics which a lot like to focus on as some negative thing. There are a multitude of reasons to re roll outside creator.
Preemptive additions can help new players and all alike. Others should be made for those who have most slots taken. (As many do now...)

Again devs can fix this without removing the 3 cds... By adding conveniences/preventatives and fixing the couple bugs that are in the creator that can cause a wasted CD all together or the CD not coming back.
Then there are environmental issues that do effect cosmetic choice like the lighting also.

You should not cut off the whole hand to remove the poison...

Tbh even having to do the lockout is a failure/short sight; their fault in the first place. There has to be other ways. And as far as PVP which isn't even their priority right now has its own locked out to protect it; which also is not good enough. So the only excuse is bots and which is more inconvenient to whichever player. This deletion thing has been around for a while now you know with no improvements to anything said above...

My feedback is that the current setup of the deletion limit is a positive thing and does not need any changes.
Deleted and remade multiple characters yesterday; deletion limit gave me no problems.

Ask for character creation improvements, a barber shop implementation or even cash shop appearance changer. But leave the deletion limit, it was a small yet effective means to combat bots and I would very highly prefer the limit to be maintained even at the expense of potential character appearance flaws.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who deleted her character because I finally heard her injured scream......it was ugly. That voice was just so distasteful! Deleted her.
Another was deleted at around lvl 10 because I compared her height to that of the queen and was unsatisfied with how she actually seemed taller than her superior. Deleted her too.
Yet another was deleted because I overlooked how certain scars were not only placed on the head, but on the body as well, leaving my character looking like a horribly scared at a young age teen when she wore certain clothing.

Oops, no more slots to delete characters. Hm, I guess I better wait a day or play on one of my other already established characters.

The reason I am ok with the deletion limit is simple: I'd rather deal the minor inconveniences of a character's physical appearance/waiting time rather than deal with the incessant nuisances that are botters.

Everything aside, the suggestion to earn some sort of "I'm not a bot"-badge is pretty good.
