Abort Research

cosmoplayer
is it possible to abort crafting research?
becouse i was looking "ai resaearch grid" addon to get the 6th trait on war axe, but wasn't refreshed and now my slot is going for the 7th trait.
i've no planned more than 6 trait at the moment, so i will like to know if there is a way to abort the research, an if not, this option could be really a common sense.

Seriously? You really want to drop a fortnights research just because you're happy with 6 traits? What about when you suddenly decide you want to have all the traits after all because they've made it worth it? Though I can't see that happening, by my lights even though I'm chasing all 8 it's only worth doing up to 4 Traits because the mixed sets are heaps better in terms of advantage.

I run 3 sets atm but only because there are no two piece Spell Crits.

no, obviusly becouse i must complete the 6th trait i need at the moment, before waste long time for nothing: i mean i need to craft 6 trait set, so waiting a month for getting the 8 trait now is ridiculus.

I did something similar once but I can't blame an add-on, I just hadn't had enough coffee yet. I could not find a way to stop the research on the item I had accidentally started so I had to let it run its course. If someone else found a way I hope they'll share it.

While 6 traits is all you need to craft the best sets for most play styles at this point, I think it's worth going for 8 and 9 after you get all 6 in the hopes that better sets will be coming. So having an accidental 7th isn't the worst thing in the world if you can't stop the research.

i was waiting to craft the mother's gaze set that i could do with mixed up heavy + light+ weapon. unfortunately my mistake will take a long delay. i was surprice there was no possibility to stop the research.

Are you only researching one trait at a time? If so, use some skill points to speed research and number of research slots. Then you can research something else. There is no way to stop research once started.

What I'm getting at is that the gear being researched is gone and if you didn't intend to research further, it doesn't actually do you any harm to complete it anyway.

actually it harm a lot to have one slot stuck for 12 days, just becouse of mistake, and will be really nice to have the opprtunity to give up, or even pause the researching slot.

anyway i was only curious if there was an abort option. now i know there is not.

i'm using 3 slot in each blacksmiting, cloathing and woodworking, but after the 5th trait will getting longer amd longer, as you know.
in the maintime, i can still use mixed armor for the set i like

Never, ever craft before consuming coffee. Just yesterday I deconned a nirnhone trait instead of researching. Did it 1st thing in the morning, yeah pre-coffee. Had no one to be mad at but me. :-(

It doesn't really have an effect overall, because you would have to research that item for twelve days sooner or later. Yes it can be annoying, but in long run it all works out the same, I know because I've done it a few times.

Just bought the last traits I need to research everything, but once I research on an alt, he can craft it for others to research (god that's going to happen a lot soon, and for 25-30 days a time).

I'm still about 7 or 8 items short, myself :), but I'll get them all eventually and in the meantime I have plenty of repeaters for the others just like you have :D. I have an advantage in this respect though, because I got traumatised by Mannicrappo at Sancre Tor I tried to develop several other Alts and have been training them in items for their specialised fighting ever since. I was using the first Alts item research as a base for everyone else and occasionally researching items the others picked up, so most of my Alts are pretty close to 80% with their specialisations too :D.
