I wonder if making a sorcerer which uses a bow and summons creatures is viable? If not - what other class is the best for archer and is archer viable in general in eso?

I'd say a Nightblade would be the best archer class due to the amount of utility among their class abilities. More info.
Bow on 1st bar, dual daggers on 2nd bar and you get a nice rogue character.

Sorcerer's pets are sadly quite useless outside of solo content and you will never use them after reaching endgame. Sorcs can handle bows too but with less support from their class tree.

My main is a sor. bow user. The pet is not special good in pvp. But in PvE its very good to split groups up or keep aggro away from you.
And its fun to use.
Normally i lay a trap. send of my pet and use snipe to start up with. its a good combo and can solo almost all world bosses.

I didn't play my nightblade as an archer, but I can see how it would be great for it. Siphoning attacks adds great sustain in long fights to any kind of build.
In general I would say that it doesn't matter what you play while leveling, but imo nightblade would give you the best experience when you are max level.

For pve NB imo is one if not the best Archer, but in pvp ill go DK for an archer just because scales.

Templar makes a surprisingly good Archer, you shoot at mobs from a distance, and if they get close, biting spears pushs them away long enough for you to swap weapons (or just keep shooting them).

Nightblade as other have said makes a good Archer too, what with siphoning and a stabbing ability that works irrelevant of your weapon.

DKs can be archers, but you will want to swap weapons when the mobs get close.

But a Sorceror will work, your Summons should keep mobs away, and you keep moving around taking potshots, you will want a few spells ike lightning splash and mages fury as well.

Sorcs get crit surge, and I think when used with a stealthed snipe it could wreck ***. I think it would work pretty well.

Son, you have been playing WoW too much. Wait for spellcrafting and get urself ghostdawg (summon familiar spell). Thats as close as you can get in near future

NB archers with assassin skills on the bar have big crits, especially cats. My first NB is a Bosmer, and she leveled through all content DW and bow. Very effective. Too many get too close, Mass Hysteria, sends them running, plug them some more. And siphon health, always excellent.

Bowplars are a blast. Between javelin, shards, and bow... you can really push and shove stuff around all day. I had an utter blast leveling my bowplar.

My 2nd sorc - I started him off as Bow and pets. As already stated, PvE you'll pretty much crush anything in your path leveling. I stopped after a little bit though, as pointed out, I felt like i did that in WoW already.

All that being said.. your "hunter/ranger" will eventually be able to be played with any class. The last I saw in spellcrafting previews is that there will be summoning spells you can craft. So... you could be a DK with a bow and summon a Flame Atronarch pet for example.

Lots of really interesting options down the road.

I enjoy my DK archer. Ranged Bow skills + reflective scales. I love taking out other DKs with scales. When I see those wings pop up I use snipe and pop my own. Thing does massive damage after it reflects twice

Actualy, besides the ability of Burst kill with Sneak attacks in PVP, NightBlades are the worst choise for Stamina builds.
They have almost no synergy with stamina builds. Only some Stamina regens, which doesnt make any difference at all.
Even haste wont work. If you want to deal good dps you will spam Snipe\Wrecking Blow\Flurry and they all have cast time which wont be improved by Haste, while you will weave light attacks with absolutely same paste.

Honestly, i dont understand why do Sorc have Critical Surge not NBs while all their skills and passives scream - NB made to be Stamina character....
