It's been 3 weeks since the relase of Update 5. Now with the bugs mostly fixed and issues ironed out, when can we expect to see Update 6 on the PTS, and what will the update contain?
This is what I think we'll see, along with some confirmed features:
  • Imperial City (Unconfirmed)
  • Champion System (Confirmed)
  • Overhaul of combat, skills and abilities. (Confirmed)
  • Overhaul of Provisioning (Confirmed)
  • Changes to stamina-based builds (Confirmed?)
  • Increased world interactivity e.g you can now pick up soul gems and money piles. (Unconfirmed for 6, but it's coming.)
  • PvP Changes

Basically, it seems that Update 6 is potentially a massive overhaul of the entire game.

    NO! NO! NO! It will just break a bunch of stuff--and all to add a bunch of garbage that won't apply to me anyway.

    We are likely to see most of these things. However I expect it to take 6-8 weeks before they push it live.

    We are looking somewhere between 15-29th December.

    btw, where did you get info on the confirmed ones?

    @Enodoc There was some info in Episode 4 of ESO Live way back in October. At one point a developer (I think it was Paul Sage or Eric Wrobel) stated that the Provisioning Overhaul was coming in Update 6 along with the ability changes.

    Btw the overhaul of skills and abilities isn't the same as Phase 3 of the Veteran Overhaul (Which is the Champion System). They are alot of changes coming to abilities and class balance tweaks in general plus there's going to be new abilities like Magicka Bomb (Confirmed), which leads me to believe that the Imperial City is coming in Update 6 as well.

    You forgot the occidental release of an unfinished update on a sunday and the release of an old version of the next update 3 days later.
    That being said and apart from balance issues I'm quite happy with the state of the game in PVE right now. :)

    I don't think the patch will come around X-mas, no company would ever do that. Its just unprofessional as nobody would be around to fix any bugs and they always happen.

    Early January, second week is my guess.

    As for the content,

    well the justice system was already in testing at 1.5 so 1.6 should have it. As for the rest I don't know, Imperial city is doubtful or I must have missed the announcement. ;)

    Obviously you are not paying much attention and are just in a hurry for another update that will just bring in more bugs and issues. First of all not all the bugs and issues have been fixed or ironed out for that matter. Many issues from previous updates and patches are still left unattended as are many created by update 5. ZOS needs to put the skids on any future updates until they have fixed all the issues and bugs still in existence. Update 6 needs to go thru an extensive testing phase before it is released. The way ZOS has tested all the previous updates is totally unacceptable. The bugs and issues history of all their previous update releases has proven that.

    I am sorry if this might be a stupid question but I am not that up to date in regards of the current statements by ZO officials and the Imperial City is something I cant really "imagine" right now as for what its purpose will be.

    Nice, once I killed a guar and got a guar egg, for some absurd reason it was so weird I linked it.

    And yes the picking up soulgems and other stuff sounds like its linked to justice system.

    It's basically just an extension of Cyrodiil for players who like either PvE mixed in with their PvP or some more close-quarters PvP combat. There are 6 districts that you're able to capture, each containing PvE objectives and quests, and of course other players.

    You gain access to the Imperial City if you control your 6 home keeps (No, not the ones around the city that give you emperor, but your 6 home keeps.). This means that not every faction necessarily has access to the city, but the population of the imperial city is shared with Cyrodiil, making home defense a little more important.

    There are special crafting stations in the city that give access to the new Xivkyn armor set. It is unknown what stats and bonuses will be on the set, but it will certainly be quite powerful.

    There is a massive area called the Sewers that is the size of probably several group dungeons. It's very oriented around PvE quests, but players will be around at all times. Each faction enters the city through the sewers and each have a safe zone.

    • Overhaul of Provisioning (Confirmed)
    • Changes to stamina-based builds (Confirmed?)
    • Increased world interactivity e.g you can now pick up soul gems and money piles. (Unconfirmed for 6, but it's coming.)
    • PvP Changes

    Basically, it seems that Update 6 is potentially a massive overhaul of the entire game.

    I can't say when we would see it on pts but every major patch has gone live 4-6 weeks after the prior one. I'm almost positive its only been two weeks of update 5 so far but then again working 6 days a week and barely having time to play you lose track easily.

    Anywho, like I said they get to push the next big patch every 4-6 weeks so if not by this weekend then prolly by next week or so we should see it on pts. They do on average 2-3 weeks of testing the next patch before pushing it. And then hotfix everything they didn't fix during the pts build.I'd love to see the majority of that stuff in update 6 though and revamp to provisioning is what I'm looking forward to. Loot that makes sense according to what container you looted it from, and redone recipes. Can't wait!!
