I'm surprised this wasn't put in when dyes were launched

They have gone quiet on this, probably hoping we would all forget and move on.

ZoS... i have dark green and black Dwemer armour with a big purple shield and a blue and golden axe... I can live with the axe, but let me dye my shield please.

    Thanks.

Why not let us dye both shields and weapons? There really isn't any reason to NOT allow us to do this....

The ability to dye shields will be a loyalty reward received at the one year level.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

It's simply a part of the system that hasn't been added yet. Weapons and shields are different textures than most armor, so it stands to reason that it will take them a bit of work to get the dye system to work properly with them.

They've repeatedly said it's something they hope to add down the line.

Yeah, mind you it's been in the works for a while now, hoping they haven't given up and said nothing.

If they have given up, I can live with it, it's the waiting that kills me.

It's going to keep coming up until ZoS definitively says, "Yes, we are going to do this, expect to see it as part of Update X."

Honestly, I don't know why people have to get snarky about new threads addressing "old" topics. If someone WERE to search and then comment on an "old" thread then they would get a ton of snarksters saying , "Why are you necroing this old dead thread??? Sthap!" And they'd be the same people who are being snarky about this new thread.

As long as a topic is of interest to players, it's going to keep coming up. This let's ZoS know this stuff is till important to players.

That said, I want to not only be able to DYE my shield, I want to be able to apply personal heraldry to it!
