AvA, Forward Camps, ganking

With the removal of Forward Camps, ganking has become the most important strategy in AvA. Blood porting essentially neutralized ganking. It still happened but gankers were doing groups a favor by providing fast travel to a forward camp. It was a sublime solution to an annoying problem. Is turning AvA into a gankfest the intent of the developers?

Cutting off enemy transit lines during war in your opinion is ganking? Carebear somewhere else please.

Bypassing all natural and player defenses by dying is game breaking.

In war the attacker is much worse then a bully lol .....This game is about AVA so we are trying to cut them off.. Ganking is needed and easy to bypass with everyone having sneak....

What sort of bullying is taking place by attacking another player who is on their way to a PvP combat zone?

Obstructing someone from PvPing by PvPing them?

Most complaints about ganking as "bullying" come from players trying to participate in PvE while avoiding PvP.

Don't feed the gankers they will just do that more. Move in a group or go around the known spots. It very very rarely happens to me.

Cutting off reinforcements is a valid strategy. Think of it as more of an ambush.

Now, if you were out collecting skyshards or doing the daily quests in the pve areas and you were attacked, that would be ganking.

Ganking is a tool for one player to bully another player. Carebear? It surprises me not at all that bullies support this.

bullying? How is it bullying? because you get shot in the back?

so if i see you riding your horse through the woods on your way to a keep, paying no attention to your surroundings, i am supposed to just let you ride by?? no!!! im going to jump you! if you dont want to be ganked, stop riding your horse thru the woods, stop sprinting everywhere, and have your guard up at all times. Fighting gankers is not that difficult.

If you cant spare an extra 5 minutes to make sure you have a teammate with you, and you run thru the woods alone, you deserve to be ganked. if you sprint like a buffoon across the battlefield, you deserve to be ganked. if you try to flee from the battle, you better be prepared for a possible ganking. Trust me, ganking is not bullying. i was bullied thru out all my elementary school life, and half of my middle school life. I know what bullying is, and ganking is not bullying.

Now, if you are only PvEing, and a player stalks you across cyrodill murdering you just to tick you off, that would be bullying, but not killing a player on their way to a keep. That is called strategy; cutting off reinforcements.

I am curious to see what the next excuse for getting killed by gankers is.

No, we don't want forward camps back, or if they do then they need to make them VERY limited, like 5 per camp and only able to rezz within the circular range, zerg/blood porting around the map is stupid.

What they should do is turn camps into places you can run back to and get a full heal.

I rarely get ganked anymore, I I do get joy out of killing or escaping though.

As I have said before ambush spots in this game are obvious. If your horse riding in such places your just asking for it.

With all the suggestions about forward camps floating around over the last few months, I don't think I've actually seen this one before. This is a great idea :)

The problem is that going by foot takes ages so you will be too late to take part at the fight. Moreover its totally boring to run 5 minutes.
However if you ride you will be hit by some snipe fall of your horse and die before you can do anything. Especially when there are groups of several players all sniping you, so you instantly die without any way to react.
I don't mind being killed on my way to some keep. I do mind if I just instadie from invisible players without being able to do anything against it.

And this is one of the reasons we cant have good performance in PvP. Everyone runs in big groups, to avoid getting ganked. Removing camps made very little difference as far as performance goes. People still cluster-up and lag out the server in the same godforsaken corner. To lazy or scared riding(or running while stuck in combat) further into enemy territory.

Only solo'ers I ever see outside of keeps are friendly bow-users in stealth, playing peekaboo behind some rock waiting for a free KB. Rest runs with the lemming train, because yeah good luck ganking the zerg. You can only gank that one guy, he who joined a public raid with a low level imperial mount. But it's not as if killing him makes an actual difference.

Boosted healing near a camp is an interesting idea I like.

Instead of lowering the respawn to 5, how about increasing the respawn, but adding a respawn cooldown for the camp. So, players can only respawn once every 10 seconds. When a player clicks on the camp for respawn, they go into a queue, and must wait until it is their turn to respawn.

I agree that you should only respawn at a camp or keep that is within a certain distance from you. Otherwise, you have to respawn at one of the two wayshrines.

Personally, if I want to fight someone in a PvE area who is obviously questing, I think you should follow the rules I heard duelers use: hit them with a light attack and block. If they attack you back, it's game on. If they run away screaming like a little girl...well...you get the point.

The percentage of players who regularly fight in Cyrodiil is much smaller than players who do not. If we want Zenimax to put more resouces into improving AvA, then we need to encourage more players to play...even if they are for an opposing faction.

People dont run together solely because theyre afraid of getting ganked by stragglers. They run together cuz they stick with the objective, they stick with the pack. Numbers means business when taking down a keep. When anyone is running around solo / PuG they look at the map at where the action is and they head that direction.

Being "cut off" from the train only adds another dynamic to the PvP.

then all i can say is don't ride your horse through the woods alone. get a teammate to help you.

when you ride a horse, you expose yourself to gankers like me, who are more than happy to take advantage of the opening you have provided.

There are players that i never gank. I see names in PvP keep battles i never killed out on the roads, so it is possible to avoid being ganked.

Buy a new horse and put some stamina on it. Don't sprint the entire way there. If you get hit, press h, roll, heal yourself/use a potion, and then see who is behind you.
The players that try to gank you off your horse are usually pretty easy to take down, unless you had no stamina on your horse and fell off on the first hit,

i actually managed to kill a 2 man group a few days ago.... i got jumped by lethal arrow. i cloaked, killed the guy, then a DK with a shield charged me and tried to kill me. My constant use of sparks made almost all of his attacks miss, WHILE he stood in my veil of blades. i ended up killing him too.

    it was glorious
