Random 5-20 second screen freezes

Not sure what was in Update 1.5 but I am getting these now. The screen completely freezes and I can't do anything. This repeats a few times and then either clears up or logs me offline. It isn't a network problem on my end because no other network applications (TS, Skype, etc.) go offline or have any problems during this time.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm really to the point of unsubscribing due to the unbelievable amount of bugs for this game.

1.5 did this to me aswell. It will just completely freeze for ages and large battles i cant part take in anymore. I cant even run with my group anymore and thats really pissing me off

This happened to me once. The game started stuttering, then it froze, unfroze, froze, unfroze, and then crash.

Weapon swap is causing this. Not consistently, mind you, but whenever I encounter this problem it is immediately after trying to weapon swap.

I get this due to weapon swap in dungeons sometimes. Each time after it becomes increasingly worse and I have to restart my client. Feels like a memory leak after leaving my comp on for too long.

Yes same here....every patch they prove they don't know wtf they are doing. Besides Paul sage said that we would see the bulk of combat improvements in 1.5 and we haven't seen any......unless this weapon swap freeze bug is what he meant lol

I started a thread like that in CS section. Don't think it was wep swap for me though, more like server lag or something - all my group members froze at the same second for same amount of time(in the middle of fighting Praxin in vet Spundleclutch. That was fun), another friend reported having to quit the dungeon as they were all repeatedly getting same problem.

It looks like a disconnect, I can still move and all, but the world around freezes, then in 5-10-20 seconds catchs up. Same time for everyone. Skype, TS, etc run perfectly fine in the background, indicating it's not an actual connection issue(besides, would be weird for all of is to get one at exact same time while playing from different parts of the world).

Since the release of the game, If I don't run the game as High-priority in task manager, I'll get freezes randomly for several seconds. I've not noticed this issue lately thankfully, have heard of a person I party with crashing due to weapon swap though, odd.

Edit - Just went to Cyrodiil, weapon swap caused consistent freezes which became longer the more I weapon swapped. Sad.

It's not a memory leak, because you don't have to restart your client. You actually just have to relog and that fixes the weapon swap freeze bug.

It's not a memory leak, because you don't have to restart your client. You actually just have to relog and that fixes the weapon swap freeze bug.

Don't even need to relog, just go to settings > gameplay > and toggle to show/hide helmet.

Bizarre fix I know!

Allow me to add that the freezes also happen when changing zones.

By that I mean crossing the sweet-spot between unloading landscape and loading city details or vice versa. In that, no weapon swapping is involved.

Not the same issue. This morning I got 3 of these 3 second hitches while in combat. Relogging fixed it.

Yep, got the weapon swap freeze in PvP yesterday during a keep battle. First time I've experienced it. Logging out and playing a different game solved it for me

I've started having this issue after 1.5. Reported it in bug and in forums here - seems to happen after a while of playing when I try to weapon swap. One time (while I was tanking mind you) it froze for like 30some seconds in the middle of a boss fight just waiting to weapon swap.

If you relog on the game it will clear up, but it needs to be addressed when it's happening in the middle of fights, you can't relog at that moment.

Hmmm...I got two questions for all who have seen this issue:

1: Have you all installed the recent Windows update (that is, if you are playing on a PC)
2: How long have you guys been online before you started to see this issue...

I've got a strong feeling that there are three problems:

1. Nobody installed the updates (there were 10 of them that got released on Wednesday)
2. Weapon swapping has a memory leak that causes it to freeze up when you try to weapon swap after you've been online for x amount of hours
3. Player or server does not have latest Adobe Flash Player installed

That's just my two cents on it, and by no means am I a technician. Usually, when I encounter a crash, my first two things on my checklist is 1) Is my computer fully up to date, and 2) Do I have most up to date version of Flash Player (if it's a full version behind, my computer will not load things correctly).

Also, Windows LOVES to install updates monthly, but the week beforehand, the Internet slows down to the point where lag is upwards of 2000 ms.

Again, my two cents on this.

I am getting this same bug where weapon swap causes a total freeze. Completely ruined our hel ra raid last night.

Also getting periodic lag/freezing up since 1.5. It seems I am also still seeing Templar or 2h related performance issues. When I use critical charge (and maybe some other abilities) I'm getting bad lag (sometimes not always).

Why did most comments here get an "lol"? Is it so funny when the game freezes or crashes for some people?! Well, laughing about everything is what *** beings mostly do, I guess.

Edit: the word is *etarded, with an r in the beginning. Why is THAT getting cut out? I've seen worse here on the forums, by far.

I noticed that too. Usually an abundance of LOLs means someone disagreed with a certain argument, but in this case I think someone was just bored, since it's not really a controversial subject...
