Does anyone have a solution to combination keybinding?

So, I'm at the point where I really want to map, for instance, an skill bar ability from the (1) keyboard input to something like Shift + Left Mouse.

Why ESO doesn't support this is beyond me. But after googling for over an hour I can't seem to find out exactly what program/macro to use...

Anyone???

    No shift modifiers for keybinding.

    A bummer, I know.

This gaming keypad has shift modifier capability, along with a lot of programmable buttons. I use this with my left hand, and a mouse in my right hand. I use the joystick on the Tartarus for movement, and have my abilities programmed to the keys. The keys can be programmed to emulate keyboard functions, and also mouse functions, too. I have small hands, so I went with this model. If you have larger hands, you could use the Orbweaver, which is bigger and has more keys. They are a bit pricey, but it's possible you could find a used one on Amazon. It has been a really nice set up for me.

EDIT: I forgot to add that it works with ESO right out of the box - no third party software needed. Since it emulates keystrokes or mouse functions, I imagine it would work with any game.

    Hi There

I personally use the Orbweaver. Im a little older lol so using just the keyboard and mouse was a little hard for me. I use the joystick for movement also and the mouse for direction etc. I use the button above the joystick for swap and the one below for my ultimate. I have the default keys for movement reprogrammed for my dodge/rolls. Using the mouse and the thumb joystick together is excellent for kiting with a bow. I use the top keys for my 5 abilities. Great for ergonomics my hand dont get tired and its adjustable. It is pricey though.

It will take a bit of getting used to but once you do its a great game tool.

    Cheers

@rwelshmub17_ESO I agree. When I looked at the Tartarus I noticed it was a little on the small side. If I went with Razor I would absolutely grab the Orbweaver just because it looks like it would fit my hands better and has some extra keys.

However, I'm glad I didn't buy it last night (I figured it was Sunday morning anyhow and it wasn't going to ship) cause the Logitech G13 that @Razour posted looks like it has a more traditional d-pad by the thumb.

That "knob" thing the Razor has looks like it might take some adjustment to get use to.

Seriously, thank you all for the help. This is what I call a game changer

You might want to really look at those two products again before you buy.
It's actually the G13 that has the weird knob thing instead of a d pad.

My husband uses a G13 and I use a tartarus. He said the thumb joystick thingy was really hard to get used to for movement, but he really likes it now.

Also the G13 is huge. It's much bigger than it looks in pictures.

@jnjdun_ESO I just watched a youtube review comparing the Tararus and G13 and I got to say, it is a tough decision.

The biggest concern, after watching the youtube review (you can see it here for those interested Orbweaver VS G13) is how agronomic the G13 is going to be.

Personally, I do prefer the G13 d-pad, but that's only in theory, perhaps if I used the Orbweaver I would prefer that one... However, being a creature of habit I tend to gravitate to what looks more "traditional". The G13 also seems to have two buttons where the thumb would rest, whereas the Orbweaver looks like it has one (minus the d-pad of course).

Conversely, having a razor keyboard, I'm thinking there may be an advantage using the Synapse 2.0 software if I got the Orbweaver. Additionally, it was confirmed in the video the Orbweaver allows for key modifiers... Which is so important to me as it allows me to use all my main moves without having to move/reposition my hand. Maybe the G13 does this as well, but I didn't catch it in the review.

The G13 can be had on ebay for $49.99 whereas the Orbweaver is running $109.99 (with free shipping).

Just not an easy decision. Atleast it is Sunday and I have the rest of the day to think on it.

I just wanted to point out a couple things about the Tartarus/Orbweaver. They DO have 2 buttons near the thumb, although that wasn't reviewed in the video. There is a button above the joystick, and one below (it kind of looks like a thumb rest). If you look at the pics of the Tartarus/Orbweaver, that big thing below the joystick is a button - you can push down on it to activate. I believe any button on these can be used as a modifier key, including that bottom thumb button, although I could be wrong about that.

Also, the joysticks on the Razer ones actually "click" when you push them in a direction. It is not free moving like a joystick on a console controller would be. This is one thing I do not like about it, because it makes you have to use more force to move it. It is very minimal force, but noticeable - especially at first. Honestly, this caused thumb strain for me at first. Once I got used to it, I didn't have any further problems, but it could be something you do not like.

The biggest factor for me would be comfort. A controller could be the most user friendly, perfectly set up controller in the world, but it wouldn't make a difference if you can't use it for more than a little bit at a time due to pain. The G13 looks like it could cause problems after prolonged use. It could be something you get used to (like the Razer joystick in my case), or it could cause chronic pain. There is no way to know unless you use it for en extended period of time - probably more time than what would be allowed under a return policy.

I would suggest going to a local store that sells both of these and see if they will let you take them out of the box. Test them out a little to see if one is more comfortable for you than the other. Unfortunately, this will only be "initial comfort", as it will take a good bit of playing time to see if it will cause pain in the long run. In my case, my mouse causes more strain to my hand (really my wrist) than the Tartarus does. I have to use a micro mouse because normal mice are too big for my hand, so its possible that is what causes this.

In either case, the choice is up to you, and what is most important to you. The G13 does have some nice features, but the Razer ones are nice as well. And yes, they are game changers, no matter which you choose. There is no way I could play this game with just a mouse and the regular keyboard.

Syrani is right about the buttons by the joy stick. I mentioned in my earlier post I use the top one for weapon swap and the bottom for my ultimate.

I did go to a local store to check them out as they had both on display and I went for the orbweaver for comfort and the mechanical keys, guess I like to feel the click lol. I think thats the only difference between the orbweaver and the tarterus. There is a big price difference between the orbweaver and the logitech though.

Whichever one you go with once you get usec to it, it will be a game changer. I can dodge roll much easier and using the joystick for movement and the mouse for direction kiting is much easier, especially when my NB is fighting those damm harvesters lol.

Good luck hope whatever device you choose works out for you.
