Champion System Update - Where are we now?

Hi all,

It was stated that the Champion System would be addressed in 4 phases.

I still have no idea what was done in phase 1 but from what I can gather update 5 puts us currently into phase 2 in which VP-->XP.

Could someone please clarify...

1. What phase of the CS transition are we actually in?
2. What changes can we expect in this upcoming phase?
3. Will phase 3 be implemented in update 6?
4. What changes are being planned for phase 4?
5. Will phase 4 be implemented in update 7?

The information regarding phase 4 I realize may not be concrete. I'm really just wondering, where are we now with the CS @ZOS_mariaAliprando, @ZOS_GinaBruno, and/or @ZOS_JessicaFolsom?

If we are in phase 2 as you said then phase 3 would introduce further tweaks to make the game ready for P4 when the VR requirements for dungeons, trials, items, professions ... will be completely removed from the game and level 50 + 1200 champion points will be the new "end" so to speak.

Sadly there is almost nothing known about the CS. ZO is very silent about it so what I said could all be wrong too.

1.6 most likely has the justice system included it was already on the PTR with 1.5 but only for testing purposes especially the UI (you couldn't fight there yet).

I wish ZO would give us more information about future updates like they did in the first few months with their Road Ahead articles. Right now we do know that a lot is supposed to come but we don't know how and when.

I doubt Phase 3 will be in the next update. I think next update will be Imperial City. Right now we are in Phase 2. Phase 3 is the Constellation and Phase 4 is going to be Gear seasons and removal of vet ranks (From my understanding.)

TL:DR : No one knows not even ZOS!

From what I've been reading P3 will introduce significant Class and Skills changes.

This mirrors what has also been said in regards to aligning spell damage w/spell crit and weapon damage w/weapon crit in Update 6.

I'm wondering if in fact we're in for a huge classes/skills change in the next patch and if that with be dubbed "P3"?

I highly doubt it. What has been announced so far were a streamlining of stats towards either magicka or stamina and some slight adjustments to select class skills, they didn't mention anything that could be taken for a complete overhaul so far.

I don't know how long exactly, but I think in either 1.6 or 1.7 champion system will be in the game along with vet ranks, then later vet ranks will be taken out all together.

Actually, in fact, they have said that the CS will require a complete overhaul of the game. It's not unreasonable to think the CS would require significant class and skills changes as well. The only thing that I know for sure is that the transition to the Champion System is going to be a train wreck of epic proportions. Look how much trouble they are having simply going from VP to XP.

Exactly why I'm playing out my month long sub and taking a 4 month break from the game.

Well these are two valid reasons why we need more clarification on what is coming with CS @ZOS_mariaAliprando and @ZOS_GinaBruno.

Might as well make it 6 months, in case they decide to change the whole leveling system again after CR launch.
