Dear Zenimax,
Please implement 2 things.
1. Heraldry for shields.
2. Personal heraldic tabbards. This would be a tabbard you could design solely for yourself rather than a guild tabbard.
Historically, heraldry was personal, it did not denote membership in a group, it was not part of a uniform. While guild tabbards are fun and can be used as a form of livery a shield should have one's personal arms displayed on it. And a tabbard with personal heraldry would have been worn by any even minor noble over the livery associated with another noble House. So, please, give us the ability to create a tabbard for each of our characters with their personal heraldry and add personal heraldry to shields as well. Thank you!

✭✭Actually it was both personal and organisational.
The armies of a lord would wear his colours (although not necessarily his Knights). Furthermore organisations such as the Knights Templar would wear their organisations colours.

Yes, armies would, more often than not, wear the colors of the Lord they fought for. As you point out, these were not knights though. A knight was a noble (however minor) and, by mere virtue of being a knight, would have his own arms/heraldry. That was one of the perks of becoming a knight. So yes, guild tabbards certainly have a place...but I think personal heraldry needs to be represented as well. Plus, hey, gold sink!
