Pledge Gold Key rewards

Got my first gold key today. It was really hard, but luckily I was in a good group. Other times I've been in not-so-great groups, and normally results in people leaving on last boss....
Anyway, so I got this gold key, and I get a terrible item.... an undaunted medium armor belt thing...
I'm a sorc. Never used med armor, most likely won't either.
Another girl in my group also got medium gear. She only used light gear too...

So do people think that the pledges are too hard for the end reward? Or did we just luck out, and people normally get good gear?
And is the hassle of waiting 24hr for a pledge, then getting a group, finishing the pledge, just to get random gear worth it?
(I am really enjoying the pledges, but for a gold key I was expecting better)

The fact that you're a sorcerer has nothing to do with your armor type. The game can't know how you play your class, and random rewards can't always be geared towards your specific playstyle. If they were, people would only need to quest for a week before they'd be fully geared.

Most of the gear is notoriously bad as it's usually a medium piece with magicka bonuses, or a light piece with stamina bonuses, so it's not just you.

I think most people are interested in doing the gold though for the rare chance they'll receive the unique shoulder pieces as that's the only way to obtain them.

it depend a lot of the dungeon as they have different chalenges, some are easy other very hard.

Chances are there are players who would use those armor traits. I've already sold several for a good profit. But yeah if your looking for your own upgrades good luck with the RNG. Personally I seem to get most of the undaunted tanking gear.

I always did gold key vr pledge, the first 2 days i got 2 times the same Epaulets of the Dwemer boss, and nothing in the last 10 days.

I got the same drop and have been trying to get the head. Is the type random or is it based on the particular dungeon pledge for that day? For example if you did darkshade (iirc) then you have a chance for the dwemer set on the gold box.

The shoulder you can get from the gold key is unrelated to the dungeon you are doing for the pledge that day - it's totally random. The helm, however, drops from the boss of the same name and can be farmed without doing the undaunted quests.

I'll probably never do another Undaunted Pledge.(unless they fix the rewards)

Finished a gold 1 last night, used my gold key and i got:

A useless purple nightwood staff of frost
1 grand soul gem
86 gold

nah..im done with that...wasted all that time I could have been collecting Alliance Points in Cyrodiil to use towards buying actually really good gear from the Elite Vendor.

I want the Undaunted Mettle Passive, but that gold reward last night really soured me on even bothering...that is just nonsense to go through all of that to get a gold key just to get rewarded with trash worse then i could get from killing a few guys at a burial in Craglorn in half the time.

The loot is random, it doesn't matter your class.

I understand the loot is random. However, in other games 'random' loot can be tailored, not just to your class, but your play style. So the mechanics do exist, its not unheard of.
The loot can still be 'random' to an extent. Random pieces and random sets related to what you currently use or what you have points currently invested in.
It would also take some time as pledges are only once per 24hrs, the pledges themselves take a decent amount of time, so does getting a group, and also different sets and getting multiple same items.
The large array of items though, I feel is too variable and dissatisfying.

So the question is, are the pledges worth it?

Just do it to level your Undaunted Rank to 10 for the nice passives

The best solution is to have multiple characters at max level to run the pledge. I have 3 characters, and have 5 pairs of the boss head sets so far.

I've done the pledges every day with my main character and have gathered almost all pieces of the 3 new undaunted sets in light, medium and heavy.
After a dozen gold keys I just got my first unique shoulder piece today: Valkyn Skoria's Pauldron (from City of Ash set).

I think those rewards are rare but the bonus are worth it. Keep doing dungeons everyday and something good will turn up eventually.
Until you get good loot from the chests, you can still enjoy the new unique heads. They look quite nice and can fit in many different builds.
