Reflect Bug / Health Desyncronize - 11/13/14 (Patch 1.5+)

I've noticed certain projectiles disappearing after hitting my reflective scales. They still traveled back and hit my opponents (shown from my damage indicators) but never affected their health bars or were shown travelling back to them.

As shown in this video, casting crystal fragments would result in this bug. But the auto-cast (proc) doesn't produce the same effect and isn't affected by this bug.

Only a few projectiles seem to be affected by this bug, the only 2 that were determined affected was casting crystal fragments and Light Attacks with a destruction staff. The "invisible" projectiles end up doing damage and desync your opponents health.

Another bug shown in this video is "Ball of Lightening" Morph of Bolt Escape doesn't absorb reflected projectiles (Idk if this is intended or not but we noticed this and felt like sharing it).

I have a few other bug videos I intend on uploading here in an effort to help Zenimax fix them. Hopefully this can get resolved.

Yes, this is very hard to do and is probably not a big deal at all. But the more bugs we clear out the better.

Sypher is 100% correct, ZOS needs to check this out! I experience the free crystal frag proc on a daily bases, can't complain though

They will not fix either. They are content with how broke it is. It is obvious only DK should be able to reflect everything, so why fix the morph of BE lol

Pretty interesting finds, especially the sorc bug. Would never have guessed unless you were paying attention (glances in ZoS's direction)

With the reflective scale, have you noticed yourself still getting hit by projectiles while scales is active? for me I seem to still get hit by lethal arrow specifically, but havent noticed with anything else.

I initially thought I was getting hit through reflect from lethal arrow, but when I started reading my death recap most of these suspect snipes were from other DKs reflecting back their own shot.

This reflect bug is a very big problem and needs to be addressed, it affects everyone.

I was sniped through my reflect multiple times just now.

I was refreshing my scales every 2-3 seconds... and still killed twice by snipe + heavy and light bow attacks.

These were from a visible bow nb...

There's clearly some kind of bug involved with reflective scales.

Scales can currently ping pong, its been known for some time.

Used to be you could only do this with spell projectiles using that sword n board skill vs a flapflap dk

But nowadays flapflaps are used like ping pong paddles.

It`s not only desyncing for scales but for defensive posture as well and has before 1.5. This was one of the reasons many people on EU stopped dueling. Fights between sorcerers using s&b ends usually in an instant blow to one of the opponents 100% HP - 0% HP due to desynced HP bars.

This game is so terribly broken in some aspects, it`s hilaríous we pay for it.

I ping pong from other DK's myself. I got a few kills on that today from bouncing back bounced snipes. Its snipes directly from the attacker that are hitting me.

I have noticed one today instance where if the attacker fires a snipe then goes invis, I will get hit anyways even if scales are up.

Thats 100% correct, but the impact on normal gameplay is minimal. I`m one of those guys dumping his apm in always jumping and it occurs sometimes, but is nothing u can expect to abuse to get advantage on purpose.

I've noticed the same thing as well with several Crystal Fragment attacks. I'll have Reflective Scales running, the projectile hits me, and then nothing. I don't take damage, nor does the sorc, and no FX of a crystal flies back at the opponent.

I've seen other projectiles properly returned, but Crystal Frags seems to suffer the issue especially frequently for me.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but since the last patch I've had problems with defensive posture working correctly against scales. In that I would hit defensive posture, cast instant crystal frag at a flapping DK, and then still get knocked down by my own cast. That wasn't happening pre-patch as it would, as expected, bounce back to hit the DK. Maybe I'm missing something but it sure seems like a bug? If not, please 'splain to a saddened former defensive posture fan. :-‹

So in the first video I saw you go up to the sorc and kill him with 1 lava whip. Is that what a health desync is? Where the damage is done but waiting in limbo for another source of damage to be calculated before doing the damage?

The damage will never show up on their healthy bar. It's even worse than what you are explaining. I just got him within whip range and then killed him to show the desync.

If I had light attacked him, his health would go down from 100% to let's say 95%, but his true health would be close to 15% due to the desync.

yeah, I noticed this once i started PvPing on my sorc, and only found maybe one or two places i could have 'abused' it for an extended period of time. I think it relates to LoS, so if you were half casting for the proc you probably wouldnt be able to use it without changing positions.

If your worried about sorcs doing this to you just dont give them walls or trees to break LoS with

To make sure that we're covering all the bases, can you please try testing Reflective Scales versus Crystal Fragment and the light destruction staff attacks with you addons disabled to see if you're still getting the desync?

As to the second issue you reported with Crystal Fragment, we're in the process of looking into this.

That's what i meant as well, and i think it occasionally happened to me ever since launch. The other bug is more serious though^^
