Small Details

One of the things I appreciate about ESO are the little touches you find here and there in Tamriel. Below is a scene I came across last night. As a cat owner I appreciate that whoever designed this part of the world is also familiar with cat behavior.

What small detail have you come across that you appreciated?

There's a scorpion boss in Lower Craglorn that has a fox running around near it (forget the name, but it's something cute). When you kill the boss, you can read the note next to a skeleton in the area, detailing the fate of an adventurer who followed the friendly fox.

A few times now, I have encountered a cat surrounded by several dead rats: "Good kitty!". Not to mention the cat sitting next to Razum-dar near the beginning of the AD questline: "Hello, little cousin!".

I love the little campsites and make shift dwellings out in the world. Some of them I look at and thought, if there were only a storage chest here I could use, I would make this my home.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The rain! Especially the way it actually patters on the ground, and that the moisture reflects nearby light sources. I sometimes just stop and stare at that.

Near the Gate of Chim in Cyrodiil, there's a burned campsite with a dead Nord clutching a note. If you read it, you'll see it's a plea from the Prefect of Bruma asking Grand Warlord Zimmeron for aid against the Dremora. It claims one was also sent to Grand Warlord Dortene, so I'm going to look around the Gates of Ni-Mohk and Alma Ruma to see if I can find the second messenger. If I do, it'll be awesome.

I am willing to bet it will be there. I remember in Morrowind that there were notes in the dungeons that would lead you to another dungeon with another note that led to yet another that pointed to an unmarked quest or a story.

No matter what one can say about the game, ZOS/Bethesda knows how to create a game world to play in.

This is so amazing. When I had guests over I used to take a crisp white sheet of paper off my printer and put it in the middle of the living room floor. Within 5 minutes my cat would be sitting on it. It was like his party trick. LOL Now you've made me miss my cat! :(

I came across this last week and thought it was a great touch. Made my whole group come over and read it too after we killed the boss.

OK. I think I know the one you mention near Chim. My next trip to Cyrodiil will be to find the other messenger. :-)

Same here, I always enjoy the sight and sound of a thunderstorm. There are a few weird things such as areas where it goes from storming to sunshine if you take two or three steps, but for the most part the weather effects are great imo.

I am convinced that the cats in AD level up. In Auridon, you sometimes see a cat sitting over a dead rat. By the time you get to Greenshade and Malabal Tor, cats are typically surrounded by a mass of rat corpses. I reckon they must have developed some fairly enviable AOE skills in that time. :D
