What happened to the Undaunted armor style shown @ Quakecon?

The main reason I was thrilled about the Undaunted pledges was the introduction of a new armor style, dropped from the Undaunted chests. However, currently, all new set items are merely Breton style. What happened? Will we still see the Undaunted style? If so, when?

I think they opted to let the Dwemer style take center stage this update and we'll probably get undaunted down the line.

From what you wrote, I'm assuming the Breton style items are placeholders because they didn't finish the actual models in time for the 1.5.2 push.

They might be saving that style for a special set we'll redeem through the pledges but not through the chests themselves (maybe)... Like a rare chance per chest to drop a 'coin' that we can exchange for a part of the real undaunted set or something like that..

Or the Breton items are just placeholders, as stated :P

Edit: I hadn't noticed the part of the OP asking if they were going to keep the Undaunted pieces in the Breton style.

That's my suspicion as well, but I'd like to hear an official word on the matter.

well from a game developer perspective, that reinforced shoulder would be hard to animate...more so with the last one where it is all metal. You could just animate it with the leather, but it will look odd doing deformations on metal...it could be they are refining the look due to the animator/game system boundaries....I'm also not certain the mesh UV's are not mirrored instead of pelt mapping...these are just some of my initial thoughts.

ZoS has long since established a precedent that artwork of armor shown in promo material will not always (read that never) make it into game.

Having ZOS present something at quakecon is almost a guarantee that it will never make it into the game.
