There's a bit of discussion going on about this in the VP vs XP thread
here, but I wanted to expand on that to try and wrap my head around this.
Situation:
- Group of 3 - we are VR1, VR2 and VR3 characters (all within 5 levels of each other)
- VR2 player is leader, so dungeon is scaled to VR2
- Leader had dungeon set to Normal, not Veteran
- Dungeon in question is Direfrost Keep which for the EP alliance is normally level 40ish (Not sure on the level right now, but either way it's not originally a VR zone dungeon)
- The mobs are scaled to VR2, despite our dungeon mode being set to Normal
- I am VR 3 and gaining 70 XP per mob kill
- Outside, I am gaining 645 XP for killing a VR1 mob
Questions and concerns:
- The amount of XP gained for a VR2 mob within a scaled dungeon seems too low, considering the XP gain from a VR1 mob outside
- Were the mobs truly scaled to VR2 since the dungeon was set to Normal mode?
- Would setting it to Veteran mode have changed the XP gain?
- Is there a deeper overall issue going on where in fact mob level/difficulty is being scaled in dungeons, but XP gain is not?
I'm going to play around and test things out a bit more later. In the meantime, any thoughts or input on this would be appreciated!
Thanks.
