How do you level werewolf abilities?

I have WW on a few characters but they don't have any EXP towards leveling the skills, including the new ones, even after using them in combat a few times. Is there some trick to getting those to rank up?

Also the ultimate itself doesn't seem to gain any exp except when I spend skillpoints to unlock other WW abilities and passives.

You need to be in your WW form doing things with it such as killing people in order to level the abilities, including the Ultimate.

Hmm. Well it took several uses of the ultimate and subsequent combat for any of the abilities to show even a small movement finally. If they level only when in WW form its going to take way longer to level them than any other skill in the game I fear.

I thought it was just like any other skill/ability, you just have to have it on your bar while earning xp. So even if you're not in WW form, if you have it on your bar you can earn xp, but obviously kind of a pain cuz you can't use it. I could be wrong, but that is what I had heard and thought.

I'll try that. Switch to a bar full of WW abilities when turning in quests to see if that moves them.

Amazes me how many people still don't realize that you don't have to be actively using a skill to level it. Put the werewolf skill you want to level on your bar. It wont be active unless your in ww form. But it still gets exp and levels. You can do this with any unlocked skill. Using dual wield but want to level bow at the same time? Throw a single bow skill on your bar, it levels while youre killing stuff. It levels slower than if its the active weapon...but it still levels.

Not really. You can slot the werewolf skills before completing quests or if your really pro, just quest/grind with them slotted. You dont have to use a skill to gain rank in it, just has to be slotted.

Yup tried and works for WW skills. They do level if slotted in the non WW bar. They also level when turning in quests if you have them slotted in the bar at the time.

I compared doing the normal "level while its slotted" business to my friend using the ability and transforming constantly. I never transformed but had it slotted. he transformed and killed mobs only within his level range. He went from WW1 to 7 in a matter of hours. It took me a week or so to go from 1-3. Unless something changed recently the werewolf line is tied decently to its actual use unlike most ultimate's that you slot that just exp up as you do while slotted.

The werewolf overall level, itself, is tied to killing while in form. The abilities and the ultimate, itself, are not.

You can easily go from the level you get Devour at to level 10 in one transformation if you find a good enough spot with enough mobs to do so, but you won't gain a ton of xp for the abilities or the ultimate, itself.

It's simple enough to level overall werewolf skill to 10. Just run dungeons and mini dungeons with friends while transforming as often as possible. Preferably around lots of mobs. I didn't realize hotbarring active skills to NON WW bars would level it. Now I will finally max out my WW completely. Thanks for the tips

I leveled werewolf from 1-10 in about an hour and a half in a vr3 solo dungeon. Just keep devouring corpses and keep killing enemies so you can stay in ww form.
